As we wrap up the month of March, this year’s Women’s History Month is coming to a close.

Here at St. Ambrose Housing Aid Center, we want to take a moment to celebrate all of the wonderful women who have walked through our door, whether they be co-workers or our clients.

This year’s theme for Women’s History Month has been “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.” Because so many women working at St. Ambrose have dedicated themselves to doing what they can to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion in housing, it feels only right to highlight some of their stories, and share with you the personal contributions they have made to community development efforts here in Baltimore City.

To do this, we asked a few women around our office the following: What does it mean to you to be a woman in your field? Which woman has inspired you in your work?

Homesharing: What's the Buzz About?

Homesharing is a simple idea: a homeowner offers an extra room in their home to someone looking for an affordable room to rent.

Unlike other roommate options, our staff carefully screen each and every applicant to make the best, most secure match possible.

Last year, we were able to work with 63 households to provide homesharing services to those in need of affordable housing around Baltimore. In addition to this, we were able to provide homesharing services to 32 young people in our community who were exiting homelessness.

Spaces are still open for homeowners interested in participating in the program.

Visit our website or contact us today to learn more (410) 366-6180, homesharing@stambros.org.

We are hiring! Join a team of amazing people making a difference in our community. Check out our great benefits and the positions we have open.
