Of all the worship we do together, let me share with you...hands down...HOLY WEEK is my absolute favorite. Even as a kid, back in the day when I wasn’t such a fan of going to church, there was just something about Holy Week.
The rhythm changed.
The rituals changed.
The focus became a single story.
...a story of brutal agony and exhilarating joy....a story of deep, eternal relationships and the lengths to which God’s love for humanity will go...a story about ME, and how incredibly fortunate I am.
When it comes to the heart of our faith, the reason for our faith, HOLY WEEK is ground zero, and I invite you to take that HOLY WEEK journey with us. Allow this story to permeate your story. Make room for a holy interruption to your busy or not-so-busy life. Give God top billing for these few days and LISTEN and FEEL and KNOW just how incredibly fortunate YOU are.
4 days.
4 meaningful worship experiences, each unique...each another step in the telling of this enormous story. Join us, please.
MAUNDY THURSDAY (6:30pm) Jesus invites us to his banquet of love and sacrifice. All are welcome without exception.
GOOD FRIDAY (6:30pm) We re-tell the story of an unjust trial and inhumane crucifixion of our Savior through the experience of music and transformation of our sanctuary into a tomb.
EASTER VIGIL (8:00pm) Starting by the light of a campfire, we process inside, into the sanctuary-tomb, by candlelight. You’ll want to give this new, powerful service a try!
EASTER FESTIVAL WORSHIP (9:00am & 10:30am) Sound the trumpets! Sing and shout ALLELUIA! Join us in celebrating Jesus’ victory over the grave that will someday be your own!
See you on HOLY WEEK!

Missionary for A Day
Peace’s ELCA missionary is the Rev. Dr. Elisabeth Johnson. She serves as a professor at the Lutheran Institute of Theology in Cameroon, West Africa. Pastor Elisabeth has visited at Peace on a home visit, and she preached one Sunday at a Sibley Park service. In February, we introduced a new opportunity to support her ministry. Forms will be available in the church office and online where you can choose a date to sponsor her in honor of, or in memory of, someone or some event. A gift of $7.00 per day you choose will help with her support. Checks may be made to “Peace – ELCA Missionary.” Please keep her in your prayers.
