Member Spotlight

Abilities Unlimited of Hot Springs

Abilities Unlimited of Hot Springs (AUI) has had three very notable achievements over the last two months:

In May of 2022, AUI received the 2021 Organization of the Year award from The Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce. Also in May, their grant application with United Way of the Ouachitas was renewed for the 2022-23 term.  Finally, in June of 2022, AUI received the 2022 Reader’s Choice award from the Sentinel Record. To see the announcement, please click here.

This year AUI turns 61 years young, and they look forward to continuing their service to adults with developmental disabilities by offering life skills, education, and pre-vocational training through meaningful and productive activities. AUI serves six area school districts through their Pathways 2 Employment (P2E) Program, which provides employment preparation, work training, and competitive work experiences to prepare students with post-graduate plans and goals.

We want to hear from you!

If your agency wants to share any recent successes, major changes, or upcoming events, we would love to feature them in ATA's monthly newsletter.

National Aging and Disability Transportation Center Learning Shorts

The National Aging and Disability Transportation Center understands that there are a lot of things to learn when providing transportation services to older adults and individuals with disabilities, and there's not always enough time to get the training you would like! That’s why they are introducing a new series of learning shorts, “How to…with NADTC." Each video is less than 15 minutes long and addresses important topics while providing useful information to help you manage your transportation program.

Mental Health Resources for Transit Workers

FTA has published mental health resources to support transit industry workers during these challenging times. These resources, which are updated weekly, include information on:

  • Mental health, wellness, and self-care
  • Suicide prevention
  • Active shooter preparedness
