When students say ChiArts is home,

they mean more than the walls of our school.

On October 23, ChiArts Senior Vocalist and Questbridge National Finalist, Flynn Ramirez, spoke to the CPS Board along with his peers, mentors, and community, each of them advocating for the future of ChiArts.

"Each and every ChiArts student that has walked into our building has left a legacy behind. Many of us walked in as novices with no prior arts experiences, but our teachers lifted us from our comfort zones and prepared us for futures bigger than we ever imagined."

As ChiArts takes the next step in its journey, the ChiArts Foundation remains committed to our mission in raising the $2.5 million required to fund the ChiArts arts conservatories for this current school year.

Because of you, every young artist at ChiArts has the opportunity to gain mentors and teachers who challenge them to find a future bigger than they ever imagined.

As a small, but heartfelt thank you, we’ve published Save ChiArts: Honoring Our Community. Within these 26 pages is a snapshot of Flynn's story, as well as countless other voices that carried ChiArts through this critical moment, and helped secure our future.

As the philanthropic partner of The Chicago High School for the Arts (ChiArts), we believe novice talent should have access to the opportunity and training to thrive, no matter their previous exposure to arts education or income. Through the generosity of donors, we fund the five arts conservatories, allowing ChiArts to champion an accessible arts education model for Chicago’s youth.
