In One Month this Group Tackled Outward Bound and an Outside Mural!
August was an incredible month for the Art of Leadership! The fourth cohort kicked off the month at Outward Bound, spending the day on challenging games and tasks, a high ropes course, and fine-tuning their communication skills and teamwork. And all the team building exercises were tested when the group reconvened last week to complete their Capstone Public Art Project at the Franciscan Center in neighboring Remington. The mural was designed by one of the cohort's talented leaders, Arielle, and came to life with the help of 33 of her peers, family members, and volunteers. This marks the Art of Leadership Program's fourth beautification project donated to the community.

The Art of Leadership Welcomes its Fifth Cohort with Guest Speaker, D. Watkins
Art with a Heart is thrilled to introduce its fifth Art of Leadership cohort for the 2019-2020 program year! The group of engaged young leaders met for the first time this month and devoted the evening to getting to know each other, discussing definitions of leadership, and building their leadership community.
As preparation for the program, Art with a Heart provided each student with a copy of
D. Watkins best selling memoir,
The Cook Up. After reading it over the summer, t
he students were excited to meet D. and talk with him about his experiences, his own definition of leadership, and the hope he has for our city and its new generations of leaders. Thank you D. for contributing to this first great meeting in what will surely be an exceptional year for the Art of Leadership!
