Message from the Museum of Fine Arts—Washington County
Important Information from the MFA
Dear Friends of the Museum of Fine Arts-Washington County,
With the COVID-19 epidemic evolving rapidly, the MFA is continuing to prioritize the health and safety of our community. Since closing our doors on Friday, March 13 at 5:00 p.m., we have received additional guidance from our government officials.
Governor Larry Hogan issued an Executive Order to the citizens of Maryland to limit social contact during this time in order to contain the spread of this virus. The goal of the Executive Order is to slow the spread of the infection and protect the citizens of Maryland. The Governor reinforced and strengthened his directives to citizens to practice social distancing. He specifically prohibited gatherings of >10 people, and advised all Marylanders to stay home.
In accordance with statewide mitigation efforts, the MFA will remain closed for the time being, and we are working to reschedule programs and events.
Staff are working to enhance the MFA’s online artistic presence. Please visit or the MFA’s Facebook Page and enjoy interacting with works of art from the MFA’s magnificent art collection!
The arts provide solace, inspiration and peace. Even when our doors are closed as part of a global effort to stem the epidemic, the MFA continues to stimulate creativity, inspire ideas, and enable people to explore and grow through access to the history of art, active art-making, and social connectedness.

Message from the Washington County Playhouse

Dear Patrons,

As you are probably aware, The Playhouse is currently closed due to COVID-19. This is extremely frustrating for us (and for you we're sure), and we ask for your patience as we navigate these uncharted waters.

Our staff has been laid off and all rehearsals and production on A COMEDY OF TENORS has been suspended.

We HOPE to open A Comedy of Tenors (or another play) in April, depending on mandates from President Trump and Governor Hogan.

While our ticket policy states that there are no cancellations, refunds, or exchanges, we will be making an exception during this time to exchange tickets to A Comedy of Tenors that have been previously purchased. However, we will not continue with exchanges until we know when we’ll be performing again (mainly to avoid further rescheduling and the resulting ticket service fees charged to The Playhouse).

We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this time. Please continue to support the small businesses of our community in any way possible, especially by purchasing gift certificates. We know that we’re not the only family owned small business struggling right now, especially in downtown Hagerstown.

Season Ticket Subscribers will also receive another email with details regarding Season Ticket Appreciation and the announcement of our 2021 season.

We thank you for your continued support of The Playhouse and live theater. We look forward to seeing you all again very soon!

Wishing you health and wellness,
Shawn and Laura

A new and shocking version of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic tale of depravity, lust, love and horror. On the fog-bound streets of Victorian-era London, Henry Jekyll's experiments with exotic "powders and tinctures" have brought forth his other self—Edward Hyde, a sensualist and villain free to commit the sins Jekyll is too civilized to comprehend. When Hyde meets a woman who stirs his interest, Jekyll fears for her life and decides to end his experiments. But Hyde has other ideas, and so the two sides battle each other in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse to determine who shall be the master and who his slave.
