Hurricane Milton and Helene resources.

The Florida Cultural Facilities grant panel meeting was rescheduled for Thursday, November 21st.

2024 FAEA Annual Conference update

Good Morning;

We are attempting to learn about the impacts of Hurricane Milton and share resources and information as we see it. While several of the organizations linked below may be sharing same information, they may be presented / organized differently according to their respective areas of authority, service and interest. Hopefully descriptions will make your searches efficient.

As in the last emails, those impacted are going to be asked to complete assessment surveys. If you're in a position to, please do. Just so you know - and you know....Helene and Milton are two different events and the assessment surveys do make the distinction, so your Milton related impacts will be differentiated from your Helene related impacts. AND although we're grateful that Milton was "a 3" by landfall, the path was made previously made vulnerable. What was damage last week may be loss this week.

Please be safe as you emerge and navigate your communities.

Let us hear from you if you're able.

Local Resources

Creative Pinellas had announced (before Hurricane Milton) Four Initiatives to Support the Cultural Community Impacted by Hurricanes. The full press release can be found here. We're unsure if all the resources they were able to share remain after Milton.

We are following them as well as other organizations in the affected areas to learn what and HOW they're doing.

Find and follow your local arts agencies and organizations on social media for possible posts.

If you'd like us to share the ways your organization is serving after the storms, please let us know via email - info@flca.net

2024 FAEA Annual Conference

We hope everyone who was in Hurricane Milton's path is safe, and our thoughts are with those of you experiencing severe damage. A soon as it is safe to do so, the conference hotel staff will be assessing the damage to determine whether we can proceed with the conference next week. Any decisions will be communicated to all FAEA members, Exhibitors, and Presenters, and posted here at FAEA.org. A timeline has yet to be determined, but we hope to have a decision by Friday.
