This classic and often controversial song summarizes what we are experiencing here in the Twin Cities this week. Not only is it cold, but it is dangerously cold. And no one is more affected by the extreme cold than those who are homeless and vulnerable.
As I sit in my warm and comfortable office looking outside I am humbled that I have been given the privilege to work for such a great organization. Not only do we shelter homeless women and children, giving them safety, warm meals, and cozy beds, but we also give them all the tools and resources that they need to make sure they will never have to spend another cold night on the street.
I spoke to Lynn recently and asked her what Haven Housing means to her. She looked outside and sighed in relief. Then she said "If I wasn't at Haven Housing I would be living out there: on the streets. I am so thankful for everything that Haven Housing has given me" --Lynn
Will You Partner With Us and
Double Your Gift?
Haven Housing provides boots, coats, snow pants, hats, mittens and scarves to all of our residents. We have been so fortunate to have amazing community partners that have donated "Winter Warmth" items to us.
Yet, the freezing temperatures continue to increase our needs and our budget.
We have been given a special opportunity this week. William and Karen Doyle are offering a $1500 matching gift. They have recognized the terrible impact that this arctic front is causing and would like to challenge you to donate to Haven Housing during this critical time.
When you donate this week, your gift will be doubled!
You can either mail a check or click
to donate safely online. Every dollar you give directly benefits the women and children that Haven Housing serves.
Thank you for your partnership. The life-changing work we do is only possible with your support.
