Emergency COVID Relief Funds Available - APPLY NOW!

Emergency COVID Relief funds are available, funds are limited and will be provided on a first come first served basis. The program provides emergency financial assistance for qualifying needs due to COVID such as:

  • Housing: Rent or mortgage
  • Utilities: Electric, Gas, Oil, Propane
  • Transportation: Car insurance, car payment, repairs
  • Other: Food, Medical Expenses, Tech needs for remote work, etc.

Funds provided through a grant from The Cape Cod Foundation Strategic Emergency Response Fund, made possible with funding received from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development.

Barbara Dominic Named a 2022 Commonwealth Heroine

Barnstable County is pleased to announce that Barbara Dominic, Human Services Consultant to the Children's Behavioral Health Work Group, was selected as a 2022 Commonwealth Heroine by the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women.  


The Commonwealth Heroine Award honors extraordinary women from across the Commonwealth who perform unheralded acts daily to make our homes, neighborhoods, cities and towns better places to live.

Walk for WEAAD: Get Moving for Elder Justice

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) was launched by the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse and the World Health Organization at the United Nations. The purpose of WEAAD is to provide an opportunity for communities around the world to promote a better understanding of abuse and neglect of older persons by raising awareness of the cultural, social, economic and demographic processes affecting elder abuse and neglect.


One of the many ways you can help build a national elder justice movement is by joining the 2nd annual virtual Walk for WEAAD. You can now register for the Walk for WEAAD campaign, which begins May 1st (the first day of Older Americans Month) and runs through June 15th, WEAAD.

McKinney-Vento Regional Homeless Education Liaison

The role of the McKinney-Vento Regional Homeless Education Liaison (regional liaison) is to provide technical assistance, training and mentoring to other districts including supporting compliance with McKinney-Vento and collaboration with state and community service providers in coordination with the State Coordinator of Homeless Education at the MA Dept of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). This is a grant-funded position.
