It is already well known that the blogger, David "Big Jolly" Jennings (widely read in southeast Texas) is a fan of the RINO Speaker of the House Joe Straus.  Jennings backed Straus to retain his gavel in 2011.  Us grassroots folks were stunned at the revelation.  We had always pegged Jennings as a staunch conservative.  On the contrary, he approves of legislative compromise.

But, then he'll do something equally stunning - like endorsing STAMPEDE!Texas 2012 candidate, Daniel McCool for Texas Senate 11.

In a blog dated May 16th, here's what Jennings published:

I'd love to see my neighbors vote with me and put a true man of the people in this seat, Daniel McCool. Daniel is anything but a politician, which is why he faces an uphill battle in this race. State Rep. Larry Taylor has a good, solid conservative reputation. And Dave Norman has deep ties to the community.

But ask yourself this? With Taylor getting hundreds of thousands of dollars from TLR, and Norman getting hundreds of thousands of dollars from StopTLR, don't you think that either one of those guys will be beholden to those groups? Each side spending half a million or more for a job that pays $600 a month?  Doesn't make sense unless you admit that taxpayer interests will not be at the forefront for either man.

I've been to dozens of meetings with Daniel over the past three years and there isn't a harder worker out there. I hope that lots of folks join me in putting a man of the people in the Senate - he'd be a breath of fresh air for that branch of Texas' government.

To say that State Rep. Larry Taylor is a solid conservative is quite an overstatement.  Taylor is inconsistent, at best, with grades from the last session of:

Heritage Alliance - 70

Empower Texans - B+

YCT - 70

Eagle Forum - 40

These grades reflect a disturbing drop from the 2009 session.

With that said, we appreciate Big Jolly's word of support for Daniel McCool.

In HD129 the Candidate is Mary Huls

Trying to find consistency in the analysis of Jennings will drive one insane.  He missed the mark on the HD129 race by endorsing John Davis over STAMPEDE!Texas 2012 candidate, Mary Huls.

While Mary is a committed conservative, a grassroots and Tea Party activist that signed "A Covenant with Texas", Davis is a solid RINO with the following grades:

Heritage Alliance 09 - 71

Heritage Alliance 11 - 62

Empower Texans 09 - 81

Empower Texans 11 - F

YCT 09 - 77

YCT 11 - 63

YCT Career - 79

Eagle Forum 11 - 32

There is NOTHING conservative about these grades.  Yet, Jennings writes:

Another easy choice - return Rep. John Davis for another term.

One thing that John understands is that we must maintain a business climate that is friendly to business and that we do not put up roadblocks that will impede their growth. That is one of the reasons that Texas House Speaker Joe Straus appointed him as Chair of the Economic and Small Business Development committee. He also has a strong working knowledge of health care laws, regulations, and the impact that Obamacare is going to have on our budget. He is the right man to work with Speaker Straus to address the budget problems that loom for the 83rd Legislature. I hope you will join me in re-electing John Davis.

Newsflash: We're not interested in ANYONE working WITH the Speaker (if he actually wins his own race).  We're interested in those

that will fight to rip the gavel out of his hand! If Jennings deems McCool a man of the people, how in the tarnation can he endorse a man of the Ruling Class - namely John Davis?

We have microscopic respect for the opinions of incumbents, candidates, journalists, columnists bloggers, or any agents that insist that the current system of corruption and self-servitude that controls Austin is adequate for Texas.

Here's the takeaway for all conservative voters:  Understand who or whom is making endorsements.  Make sure they are firmly committed to the conservative cause.  Our mantra of "No Compromise! No Surrender!" must be adopted and adhered to by anyone that wishes to receive our support, and join our side in the effort to uproot the tyrannical Establishment.
