Bobcat E-Envelope

October 12th, 2023

Dear Parents,

Thank you to 3rd graders for their participation in today’s liturgy. The Gospel message certainly resonates with all of us. “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find it; knock, and the door will be opened for you.” Gifts that we give each other are expressions of love. God hears our requests in prayer and gives us what we need, the ultimate expression of His love. Father Meany encouraged the children to put together a Spiritual Bouquet of prayer for someone they love.

October is the month of Mary. We pay our respects to the Blessed Virgin through the rosary.  Grade 5 will lead the school community in the recitation of the rosary on Wednesday, 10/18 at 2 PM. Over the years, the 5th grade has taken the lead in this beautiful tradition. If any parent is able to attend, please join us.

Junior Honor Society and Student Council will hold their induction of students in a ceremony next Thursday, 10/19 at 1:15 PM in the church.  We are proud of these students for achieving the academic and behavioral requirements for membership on a consistent basis. They must continue to do so in order to maintain their membership. Parents of our students are welcome to attend and sit in the designated reserved area for them.

Halloween is right around the corner. We thoroughly enjoy celebrating with the children on 10/31. The students may attend school in costume on that day. I am sure that many parents are already working with your child/ren to prepare a costume.

Please refrain from the following:

  • No weapons
  • No face paint
  • No full face masks
  • Nothing with gory blood
  • No short bottoms. If it is part of the costume, leggings must be worn underneath
  • No low cut tops

We will allow the following:

  • Wigs may be worn
  • Make up may be used if it fits the costume
  • Hats are allowed as long as they are not intrusive to learning. A teacher may request the child to take it off if it presents a problem in the classroom.
  • Costumes must be appropriate for a Catholic school
  • Individually wrapped candy is allowed for classmates.  Please be considerate of peanut and other allergies a child may have.

Thank you for your support in making this event a successful school celebration.

Dear Parishioners,

Several times, over the years, I have been the power of attorney for health and for property and have been the executor of an estate for family members and friends. In my experience, no matter how organized the deceased was in taking care of their affairs, it was always a challenge, especially when a house was part of the estate or when there was multiple people involved. It is even harder when you are very close to the deceased. However, preparedness can go a long way to make the experience at the time of death go as smoothly as possible.
