Dear Parents,
So far we are having an absolutely glorious October! The weather is beautiful, the book fair is up and running, the pasta sale is going strong, and we’ve made it through our fall Parent/Teacher conferences. Fall also seems to be the time when Mrs. Bartley and I need to remind everyone about parking lot safety during morning drop off.
- Please remember that if you need to leave your car to help your child, do not use the fast lane. You will slow other parents down, and vehicles will back up.
- Please go to the rectory lot if you need to help your child with his/her belongings. The patrol students are there to help your child out of the car, including putting on the backpack.
- Please also be mindful of your speed when entering the rectory lot. Many cars are going too fast, which is unsafe.
- Please watch for children while moving up the rows in the lot. The children are walking through the vehicles to get to the fire lane. If you are going too fast, you may hit them. Please drive slowly and maintain caution.
- Please also honor any barricades that are up on school grounds. After school, until as late as 6:00 PM on some days, the driveway down to Birmingham Hall may be blocked off for children in aftercare playing outside. It is imperative that no one drive around those barricades if they are up. Our PreK and kindergarten students play on that lot after school, and can dart out unexpectedly.
Don’t forget to stop by Highlanders Grill tonight for this month’s Take-Out-Tuesday event. Tomorrow will be an extra Spirit Wear Dress Down Day since last week was a half day (and the teachers had to miss out because of conferences.) There is no school on Monday in observance of Columbus Day. Picture Day Retakes (for those who were absent on Picture Day in September) will take place next Thursday, October 15th. Students having their picture taken may come out of uniform on Thursday.
Have a wonderful three day weekend!
God Bless!
Mrs. Dawn Dion
