Samuel L. Adams is the McNair Chair in Biblical Studies and Professor of Old Testament at Union Presbyterian Seminary. He has published on ancient wisdom literature, wealth and poverty in the Bible, and the Bible and American politics. He is an ordained Teaching Elder in the PCUSA and has served a variety of churches. His wife, Helen, is a primary care physician in Richmond, and he has two teenage children.
