CCUSD and CCPD Partner to Present School Safety Workshop for Parents
CCUSD and the Culver City Police Department will present a workshop on School Safety: Awareness and Preparedness.

Parents and Community Members are invited to hear how CCUSD and CCPD staff work collaboratively to ensure our students’ safety.  This event will be streamed live and archived on the CC Live Facebook page .

Community Invited to Participate
in CCUSD Arts Education Planning
Please join the CCUSD Board of Education, Superintendent Leslie Lockhart, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services Tracy Pumilia, and K-12 District Arts Coordinator Heather Moses for an in-depth workshop on arts education and the integration of the arts into the CCUSD curriculum.

At this workshop, district leadership will provide an update on the current strategic arts planning efforts. Then the public will be invited to ask questions, contribute ideas, help set priorities, and learn about opportunities to get involved in CCUSD’s arts education programming. All members of the Culver City community are welcome, including students, residents, business people and members of nonprofit organizations. CCUSD Board of Education Happenings
At this week's CCUSD Board of Education meeting, the B oard celebrated an $85,000 donation from an anonymous donor to the Culver City Education Foundation to fund CCUSD Makerspaces and the Culver City High School Robotics Club. CCUSD Team Attends California Student Health and Wellness Conference in Sacramento
T his week, CCUSD sent a team to the Second Annual California Student Health and Wellness Conference in Sacramento. The California Student Mental Wellness Conference, held in partnership with Wellness Together and the California Department of Education, brought together more than 700 educators and mental health service providers to hear from the leading voices in student mental wellness as we work together to promote student mental wellness and improve school climate across the state.
CCUSD to Hold Two Special Education
Workshops This Spring
Culver City Unified School District is pleased to announce two upcoming parent workshops from our Special Education Department.

The first workshop, "IEP Process and Supporting Special Needs Students Through Preschool, Elementary, Middle, and High School Transitions," will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21 at the CCUSD District Office Board Room at 4034 Irving Place.

This workshop will provide an overview of the IEP process with a specific focus on transition junctures in your child's educational program -Preschool to Kindergarten, Elementary to Middle school, Middle to High school, and High school to Post secondary.

The workshop will be facilitated by Jo-Anne Cooper, Christine Cole, and Sheila Grant, and a Q&A session with Culver City Middle & High School staff will be held following the presentation.

The District's Special Education Department will also hold a workshop entitled, "Techniques for Improving Reading and Math Skill Development at Home" from 6 to 7pm on Tuesday, April 17 at the CCUSD District Office Board Room at 4034 Irving Place.

This workshop will provide an overview of strategies to support reading and math skills at home. Participants will take away instructional practices and resources they can use at home to support their child’s academic development in reading decoding, reading comprehension, number sense, and math problem solving.

Celebrating the US in CCUSD! In collaboration with CCEF, the Culver City Unified School District are celebrating and recognizing members of our incredible CCUSD team. Each school site will have its own Teacher and Classified Employee of the Year, and those selected at the site will make up the pool to be considered for the CCUSD Teacher of the Year and Classified Employee of the Year.

CCEF’s incredible Tribute to the Stars celebration will be held on Saturday, May 5.

Last Chance to Register for the Screenland 5K
Run with your family and friends through exciting downtown Culver City, along Culver and Washington Boulevards and help raise money for CCUSD schools.

Proceeds from Sunday's race will benefit the Culver City Education Foundation.

Get Ready for the Fourth Annual Culver City Healthy Family 5K Run/Walk
The Culver-Palms Family YMCA will old its Fourth Annual Culver City Healthy Family 5K Run/Walk & Kiddie Run at 9 a.m. on Sunday, April 8, West Los Angeles College. The focus of the event will be on strengthening community by encouraging families and youth to get moving, to adopt physical exercise and other healthy habits like right eating, being kind to others, being of service, and more.

CCHS ASB Ramping Up Culver for a Cause Run
On April 14, CCHS Associated Student Body will be hosting the Culver for a Cause Charity Run for the City of Culver City on the CCHS campus. Proceeds will be directed towards the CCUSD Culver Closet, which helps provide clothing and toiletry items to CCUSD families in need. Some proceeds will also be donated to help Peruvian women gain an access to education because we believe that it is important for our community members, who are lucky enough to have easy access to education, to support those in developing areas who cannot afford to attend school.

The Run will begin and finish at the Culver City High School track, and will also run through CCMS and Farragut Elementary School. The event will begin at 10am on April 14.
There will be entertainment, food, T-shirts, and medals. If you are a part of an organization or business and are interested in becoming a vendor or sponsor, this event will be a great opportunity for public advertisement.
