New Year's words of wisdom from Google...
-
Let go of the past: "A new year is a chance to start fresh, a chance to let go of the past and embrace the future".
-
Make every moment count: "Here's to 365 new chances to make every moment count. Happy New Year!".
-
Every day is a fresh start: "I hope you realize that every day is a fresh start for you. That every sunrise is a new chapter in your life waiting to be written".
-
Turn wounds into wisdom: "Turn your wounds into wisdom".
-
Don't surrender joy: "Don't surrender all your joy for an idea you used to have about yourself that isn't true anymore".
-
Be messy and complicated: "Be messy and complicated and afraid — and show up anyway".
-
Don't give up: "If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up".
Personally, the most important thing you read was, "Don't give up". Whether you come crashing into the new year with a "New Year: New Me" attitude or you are quietly tip toeing into 2025, the speed is not what is to be emphasized but the hope that you keep moving forward.
We put too much pressure on January 1st to be the day and time in our lives when we overhaul and revamp everything. I don't know about you but the holidays are A LOT and require significant decompression and quiet moments of deep breathing to recover from. Staring at walls, ceilings or blue skies are all perfectly acceptable modes of relaxation and reflection.
Your time to shine need not be dictated by anyone but you. Perhaps Jan 15th will be the appropriate day to start anew. I think March 1st or May 22 or July 31st will also be the correct time to dust yourself off and kick into high gear with fresh ideas and plans for the future. The important remember (or focal point) that you recall as you venture through your week, this month and the rest of the year is, don't give up.
Happy New Year!
