Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Tomorrow we take over Sixth Avenue to celebrate the contributions of Dominicans have made to United States.
We have thrived in a country with a foreign language and foreign culture. We have left our mark in music, arts, sports, business, technology, and politics despite the challenges we have faced.
From the time when Juan Rodriguez arrived in 1613, as the first Dominican settler in Manhattan, the Dominican population has grown to two million becoming the fifth largest Latino group in the United States and the largest in New York City with a population of one million, and makes up most of the students in CUNY and the DOE.
Today is a reaffirmation of the entrepreneurial spirit and might of the Dominican people. Today we recommit to cherishing our values and heritage. Today we recommit to teach our descendants about the pride that comes with being Dominican. Today we fight for equitable representation in every sector.
Please join us along Sixth Avenue between 36th Street and 52nd Street to celebrate "Our Youth, Our Future". Together with New Yorkers of all nationalities we make New York City a place full of opportunities for all.

Mañana tomaremos la Sexta Avenida para celebrar las contribuciones de los dominicanos a los Estados Unidos. Hemos prosperado en un país con un idioma diferente y cultura diferente. Hemos dejado nuestra marca en la música, las artes, los deportes, los negocios, la tecnología y la política a pesar de los desafíos que enfrentamos.
Desde el momento en que Juan Rodríguez llegó en el 1613, como el inmigrante dominicano en Manhattan, la población dominicana ha crecido a dos millones convirtiéndose en el quinto grupo latino más grande en los Estados Unidos y el más grande en Nueva York con una población de un millón así constituyendo la mayoría de los estudiantes en CUNY y el DOE.
Hoy es una reafirmación del espíritu emprendedor y el poder del pueblo dominicano. Hoy nos volvemos a comprometer a valorar nuestros valores y herencia. Hoy nos volvemos a comprometer a enseñar a nuestros descendientes sobre el orgullo que viene con el ser dominicano. Hoy luchamos por una representación equitativa en todos los sectores.
Únase a nosotros a lo largo de Sixth Avenue entre 36th Street y 52nd Street para celebrar "Nuestra Juventud, Nuestro Futuro". Junto con los neoyorquinos de todas las nacionalidades, hacemos de la ciudad de Nueva York un lugar lleno de oportunidades para todos.
