PIZZA PARTY!
Cheat A Little Catering now offers Virtual and In-Person stay-at-home Cooking Experiences!
Our talented and charismatic head chef will provide an enjoyable and entertaining experience for you and your guests. Interactive teaching, demonstration of food preparation, tips and tricks, and an overall fun time.
Your "food kit" box contains all the components and ingredients to prepare the menu of choice. As an example, for a fun Pizza Party, all the dry goods and fresh products and other seasonings and ingredients are included, for fresh pizza dough preparation, and "made from scratch" pizza sauce.
Our lively Cooking Experiences are perfect for your family and friends, as you can be together in your home, or each guest in their own home attending via our Zoom presentation.
A recent Pizza Party we presented was for a corporation located in the East Bay. One of their departments was celebrating a significant goal achievement. So, it was great for them to "get together" in this format, as most have been working from home for nearly a year! It was a fun time for each who attended, with a prize for best-looking pizza. (Yes, there were some show-offs!)
We also offer delivery of the food kit box to individuals, even out-of-state, or to a single drop location from which everyone can pick-up within a designated window of time.
Team Building, Corporate Networking, Client Thank You, Cooking Class, Family Dinner ... or any kind of Personal or Social occasion ... let's have some fun!

FOR OUR FAITH,
AND THE PERSEVERANCE OF LOVE
Valentine's Story...
Most sources depict that Saint Valentine’s Day began with a feast and pastoral festival called Lupercalia in honor of an early Christian martyr named Valentinus, and is celebrated in mid-February to coincide with his burial. Saint Valentinus was a priest, and is remembered as a loving, compassionate and heroic person. During the time when the Roman Emperor Claudius II was persecuting the church, he had issued an edict that young men were not to marry, believing single men made better soldiers, so as not to be distracted by thoughts and care of their loved ones, but could focus on their call to duty. Valentinus is said to have performed secret marriage ceremonies in spite of the orders, and because of which he was apprehended, imprisoned and eventually killed for performing the forbidden marriages.
The celebration of Saint Valentine’s Day has evolved from sending letters, poems, and homemade paper valentines to a month-long celebration of romance that stirs the hearts of people in love. Not only are marriage proposals abundant on this day, but so are weddings!

FOR OUR HISTORY
Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history. Also known as African American History Month, the event grew out of “Negro History Week,” the brainchild of noted historian Carter G. Woodson and other prominent African Americans, paying tribute to the generations of African Americans who struggled with adversity to achieve full citizenship in American society.
In 1976, the nation's bicentennial, President Gerald R. Ford urged Americans to “seize the opportunity to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history.” The Black History Month 2021 theme, “Black Family: Representation, Identity and Diversity” explores the African diaspora, and the spread of Black families across the United States.

FOR OUR LEADERSHIP
Presidents Day is a federal holiday celebrated on the third Monday in February, this year occurring on the 15th.
Originally established in 1885 in recognition of the First President of the United States George Washington, the holiday became popularly known as Presidents Day after it was moved as part of 1971’s Uniform Monday Holiday Act, an attempt to create more three-day weekends for the nation’s workers. While several states still have individual holidays honoring the birthdays of Washington, Abraham Lincoln and other figures, Presidents Day is now popularly viewed as a day to celebrate all U.S. presidents, past and present.

TOP FOOD TRENDS FOR 2021
The continuing coronavirus pandemic keeping a record number of people close to home, growing social awareness affecting purchasing decisions, and a maturing Generation Z population, are driving the food trends that will dominate this year, says the Specialty Food Association Trendspotter Panel, which group consists of chefs, retailers, food writers and educators, and market analysts.
▪ Values-Based Buying: conscious shopping, seeking out companies owned by women, people of color, sustainability-focused brands, those with ethical practices, and messaging that makes consumers aware of the company’s cultural appropriation and community impact
▪ Eating/Cooking at Home: at-home meal preparation and consumption, with focus to brighten and enliven the monotony of preparing so many meals in a row. Consumers are looking to replicate restaurant experiences in their home kitchen, acquiring restaurant-quality condiments, cooking sauces and cocktail mixes
▪ Global Travels without Leaving Home: global flavors offer culinary adventure in lieu of traveling, especially from less-familiar countries and regions, including chilis, spices, herbs, and plants native to regions such as West Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia
▪ Functional Ingredients: health concerns are front and center now, and consumers are seeking functional ingredients with benefits in their food and beverages; products that boost immunity and manage stress, promote better health, restful sleep, and cardiovascular health
▪ Plant-Based Continuing Revolution: more a movement than a trend, plant-based foods surged in popularity during the onset of COVID-19 and will continue to grow 10-20% annually through 2024. New products include milk and other dairy and meat alternatives, meatless mixes for at-home cooking, dairy-free queso made with aquafaba; plant-based tzatziki; oat milk chocolate; and cactus-based tortilla chips
