Connecting with Pastor Robin during this Pandemic:

Every Wednesday at 3:30 pm
I will go Live on Facebook with a brief message.
All you need do for this is go to our church Facebook page at 3:30 pm and you will see me.

Also, every Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 pm
we have an informal Zoom gathering. This is your opportunity to join in discussion and see your church family. This runs for about an hour. Use this link to access this.
You may want to put this link in a special folder in your email
account for easy access in the future.

Every Saturday by 5:00 pm.
A recorded scripture reading and sermon/reflection will be uploaded to YouTube
for you to watch whenever it is convenient for you.
The YouTube link is
If you hit the subscribe button, you should get a notice letting you know there is a new video. Hitting the like or thumbs up option should help too.

Some folks are still having trouble finding the YouTube video,
so we will be sending you the link to the newest video once it is uploaded to YouTube (probably Friday evening or Saturday morning).
Have you visited our You Tube channel yet?
As we have mentioned before, by subscribing, you should automatically get a notification when a new video is posted. We currently have 32 subscribers. If we get to 100 subscribers, we get our own URL which will make it even easier to find us and reach out beyond just those in our congregation.

Please go to our You Tube channel and subscribe (it is FREE). Invite your family and friends to do the same. They need not view if they don't want to, but it will help us just the same.
Hurricane Homes

As if dealing with the Corona Virus wasn’t enough, we are less than 2 weeks away from Hurricane Season! Some houses are in mandatory evacuation areas. “Hurricane Homes” is a program organized by the Deacons, which matches people who might have to evacuate with host homes.

If you would like to be a host, please contact me by email (donnaives1964@gmail.com ) listing the number of people you can accomodate, any pets, and if you smoke.

If you need a place to stay, please do the same, and we will match you up.

I have the list from last year, but would like to hear from people. As we live with social distancing, bringing new people into your home could be an issue for some of you.

Thanks!
Donna Ives,
Diaconate Ministry
Our SHUCC food pantry ministry “Loaves and Fishes” hopes to serve our congregation and the community as well. Below are some important details for you:

  • Collect food EVERY Saturday between the hours of 9:00 am and Noon.

  • Distribution of food on Sunday. SHUCC Members and Friends will receive food between the hours of 9:00 am and Noon. Community members will receive food between the hours of 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm.

  • Anyone in need of food MUST register ahead of time by emailing Chance at shucc.mid@gmail.com or calling him at 727-222-5416. Please provide your name and phone number. Food distribution will be by appointment ONLY. The participant will receive a phone call with an appointment date and time to pick up food so pre-registration is a must. There will be NO exceptions to this.

  • Due to physical distancing restrictions, NO ONE (whether dropping off or picking up food) will get out of their car. Simply drive up to the sidewalk in front of Davis Hall and pop open your trunk. A volunteer will collect the food from your car (or put food in your trunk if you are picking up food).

  • We are also limiting the number of onsite volunteers and at this time we have all of the volunteers that we need for receiving or distributing food. This may change as physical distancing restrictions ease, but for now, we just need food donations.

  • Below is a list of the food items that we need:
canned nonperishable food items
canned spaghetti/ravioli
breakfast cereal
bottled water
pop tarts
canned fruit
bath soap
ramen noodles
tuna
instant potatoes
dried beans
rice
canned soups
  • Please note that if you are in need of food or you wish to donate food but are afraid or otherwise unable to leave your home, please call or email Chance and arrangements can be made for front step collection or distribution.
We have been sending out Daily Devotions thru our Constant Contact program. If you would like to be taken off that distribution list, but would like to remain on the e-blast list - please do not hit the unsubscribe button at the bottom - it will unsubscribe you from all further communications.

To be taken off or added to the Daily Devotion list, please call me at 352-683-4870.
Thank you,
Marty

Please remember to fill out your 2020 Census Survey. The results of the Census will help determine how hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funding flow into communities every year for the next decade. That funding shapes many different aspects of every community, no matter the size, no matter the location (i.e. Head Start program, grants that support teachers and special education, school lunches, Medicaid, Medicare Part B, State Children’s Health Insurance – just to name a few).

Also, when work resumes in Florida, they are hiring people in Hernando County beginning wage of $14.50 / hour (10-35 hours per week).
