WHAT'S HAPPENING at Spring Hill UCC
March 18, 2020
Prayer for a Pandemic
May we who are merely inconvenienced
remember those whose lives are at stake.
May we who have no risk factors
remember those most vulnerable.
May we who have the luxury of working from home
remember those who must choose between preserving their health or making their rent.
May we who have the flexibility to care for our children when their schools close,
remember those who have no options.
May we who have to cancel our trips
remember those that have no safe place to go.
May we who are losing our margin money in the tumult of the economic market
remember those who have no margin at all.
May we who settle in for a quarantine at home
remember those who have no home.
As fear grips our country, let us choose love.
During this time when we cannot physically wrap our arms around each other,
let us yet find ways to be the loving embrace of God to our neighbors.
Amen.
In following CDC Guidelines
All Activities Suspended at Spring Hill United Church of Christ
Covid-19 Virus

All activities, including Worship, are suspended until the end of March for the safety of ALL our members and friends.. At that time, we will re-evaluate how to proceed from there, unless something changes in the interim.

Neither I, or the deacons, will be making in person visits to homes, hospitals and care facilities. We will be phoning to check in with you. I will most certainly be available by phone (813 570-9378) and you are encouraged to call me with any concerns and pastoral needs you may have. Of course, if there is an extreme emergency, I will be available in person.

This decision was not made lightly or out of panic. We are trying to follow best practices guidelines in order to mediate this pandemic in any way we can.

I will be sending out a weekly scripture, prayer and devotional for your reflection. Feel free to respond with questions and comments if you have them. This will enable us to stay connected. If you are part of our Book Study and Bible Studies, please continue to read. We will find a way to discuss by email, Facebook or reconvene when it is safe to do so.

Above all, keep the faith, pray, wash your hands, and remember we belong to each other. If you have a need, please reach out.

May God’s peace be with you.
And remember, God loves you and so do I.
Pastor Robin

First Grade Book Drive Update

In these uncharted health times, I have some wonderful news. Thanks to the extreme generosity of our members and friends, we have collected $1,402.00 for the purchase of 125  hard cove r books!!!  I am still working on ordering a few more books, so I cannot give you the total cost yet. As soon as I know that, you will, too!

I just cannot thank you enough. This was accomplished in a little over two weeks time. You share my enthusiasm for putting a book into the hands of as many children as we can. This is so important.  God is indeed working in this church. I can't wait to see the expressions on the children's faces when they receive these books!

I am going to close this Lenten collection for this year. There will soon be other opportunities for giving.

Stay healthy. The Missions Team and I will look forward to the time when we can safely be together again. You are the best!!
