Hello Beloved Community!
I have good news and bad news, the good news is that I am COVID negative, bad news is that I have been at home nursing a cold that hit me on Sunday. I am starting to feel better, but as a precaution and in an attempt to prevent possible spread, I have decided to cancel Bible Study this week but we will plan on resuming the Bible Study next week.
We have an excitingly busy weekend coming up and I hope that you will be able to join us for some of these opportunities. The schedule of events for this weekend are as follows:
- Saturday, May 21 from 9-11 am Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry will be open. Feel free to bring donations by during that time.
- Saturday, May 21 at 2:00 pm, the Weeki Wachee Winds Orchestra will be performing a free concert in the sanctuary.
- Sunday, May 22 we will be having our next SHUCC Explorers class at 11:15 for those interested in learning more about joining us in the work and ministries of SHUCC. Lunch will be provided.
- Book Study also continues at 11:15 am in the Spirit Room at 11:15 am.
- Sunday, May 22 at 4:00 pm we will be having our monthly contemporary worship service in the sanctuary. We will be joined once again by SpiritFlow, the praise and worship band of Christ the Cornerstone Church in Pinellas Park.
- Lastly, we will be continuing our Easter/Pentecost Series this Sunday. This Sunday the theme is “Coming out of Skepticism” and we will be discussing the story of “Doubting Thomas” and the focus text is John 20:24-30.
I pray that you all have a great week and I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday. Thank you for continuing to be the church every single day!
Love ya…Mean it!
-Chance

Our next "Ted Talk" will be
Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at
3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
TOPIC: Say your truths and seek them in others
In a lyrical, unexpectedly funny talk about heavy topics such as frayed relationships and the death of a loved one, Elizabeth Lesser describes the healing process of putting aside pride and defensiveness to make way for soul-baring and truth-telling. "You don't have to wait for a life-or-death situation to clean up the relationships that matter to you," she says. "Be like a new kind of first responder ... the one to take the first courageous step toward the other."

HURRICANE SEASON BEGINS JUNE 1ST!
Be ready for hurricane season. Today you can determine your personal hurricane risk, find out if you live in a hurricane evacuation zone, and review/update insurance policies. You can also make a list of items to replenish hurricane emergency supplies and start thinking about how you will prepare your home for the coming hurricane season. If you live in hurricane-prone areas, you are encouraged to complete these simple preparations before hurricane season begins on June 1.
Make an Evacuation Plan
A wide variety of emergencies may cause an evacuation. In some instances you may have a day or two to prepare, while other situations might call for an immediate evacuation. Planning ahead is vital to ensuring that you can evacuate quickly and safely, no matter what the circumstances.
| |
IN THE EVENT OF A HURRICANE, PLEASE NOTIFY THE OFFICE IF YOU DECIDE TO EVACUATE. | |
|
If you are considering joining our church family and want to find out more information about us, please join us for the SHUCC Explorers Luncheon after church at 11:15 a.m., following worship.

Our Food for Thought program provides snacks for kids at Spring Hill Elementary. This helps the kids concentrate and learn, as well as relieving a financial burden of the teachers, who would normally provide the snacks from their own funds. When you donate to the food pantry, include non-sugary cereal, goldfish crackers, and other non-sugary snacks.
