It's the most wonderful time of the year!
I love the holidays. Greenery, bows, candles and lights all around. Everything seems so magical this time of year.
We all have special holiday memories. I have a vivid recollection of walking into our living room one Christmas morning and seeing the Barbie Dream House assembled under the tree for me and my sister (although I am not sure I was planning on letting her play with it)! I was so excited. That dream house was in our family for many years and I never forgot the thrill of seeing it under the lights of the tree that morning.
I want to do what I can to be sure every child has that magical moment that they remember for a lifetime, so 10 years ago I started The Winter Follies to give our students the chance to use their love for dance to spread the magic and giving spirit of the season.
Our annual Winter Follies performance is a toy drive. The price of admission is one new, unwrapped toy. If you forget to bring a toy, you can pay a $10 admission fee, but we really like to get toys. Last year we collected close to 300 toys!
The Madison Police department are helping us gather the donations and deliver them to Madison Youth and Family Services and Yale New Haven Hospital.
The performance is Saturday, December 8th at 4:00pm at the Clinton Town Hall Auditorium. There are dance numbers from our students in the show as well as musical performances from our friends at Corner Music of Old Saybrook. The show is appropriate for all ages and should be a little over 1 hour long.
Seating is first come first serve and the show does fill up so come early! Doors open at 3:30pm.
If you can't attend, but would like to give a toy, please bring your toy donation to our dance shop by 12/8.
We hope to see you at The Winter Follies!
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and a Happy New Year. Thank you for being part of The Dance Corner family.
