Claflin University Hosts Spring 2020 Virtual Commencement Convocation

Claflin University is hosting its first-ever Virtual Commencement Convocation on Friday, May 15 at 10 a.m. Students were notified in March that the traditional convocation ceremony in May would be postponed until December due to the pandemic.

"The conferring of your undergraduate degree should be a moment in time that one should never forget - and we want to make sure that even in these times, you are celebrated," said President Dwaun J. Warmack in a letter to the graduating seniors. " We know you have committed and devoted countless hours to earn you degree and we want to help you celebrate this momentous occasion."

Claflin University Selects Inaugural Cohort of Outstanding Leaders Under 40

Claflin University has named 40 young alumni to its inaugural Outstanding Leaders Under 40 list. The group of alumni, who are all under the age of 40, were selected based on professional leadership and personal impact on their communities. Each outstanding leader demonstrated a passion for Claflin University and the knowledge, strength and passion that stemmed from their days on the hilltop high. The nominees' awards and milestones were also taken into consideration.

The group will be celebrated at a special ceremony during the 2020 Homecoming Week.
