"Drink to me only with thine eyes and I'll pledge with mine"... that song comes to mind as I consider the tour with New Conservatory Theatre Center...And if ""Drink to Me Only..." was a lifetime inspiration to Johnny Cash, one of my all time favorite singer/storytellers in the world, hey, count me inspired.
Inspiration is what I believe you'll find... So much in the past as you consider the famous and community folks that traced through AAACC... So much for the present and future as you see the podcast rooms, the media room that Will Hammond and team has developed to stream from every floor and even outdoors... the arts careers that were launched, that are being launched and that will be launched. The vision is swirling with endless possibilities.
Deep among the stories of AAACC, just a casual conversation with Patrick Simms, the founder of PEOPLE IN PLAZAS demonstrated the far reaching tentacles of AAACC by virtue of the fact that Patrick, a sound engineer among other talented folks, has helped redesign sound for the complex. Simms is responsible for many of the musicians we see and hear on the streets of San Francisco. The AAACC reach is far and wide.
And the beat goes on, with folks like Judith Cohen, Director of Handful Players, who is among many mentors that have flowed through the AAACC cultivating the lives of youth, representing the past, the present and the future with their work. Mayor London Breed's comments after one of Cohen's Handful Players productions at AAACC, underscores the power of place..
Enough Words...A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORLDS... There's something happening at AAACC!
COME SEE!
