Talking Points
- Gives the governor sole authority to appoint and remove board members with or without cause
- Takes out the requirement that a Montana physician be included in the board of medical examiners, we need Montana experts to be on these boards as well as licensed medical professionals
- Harms the board of dentistry by removing licensing requirements and allowing non-Montana dentists to serve on the board of dentistry. We need professionals who have been actively practicing in Montana to serve on these boards. The ill does the same thing for the boards of pharmacy, nursing, nursing home administrators, optometry, chiropractors, radiologic technologists, speech and language audiologists, hearing aid dispensers, phycologists and so on….

Talking Points
- Blatant censorship that targets our school, library, and museum employees by opening them up to unwarranted harassment
- Allows anyone to accuse these professionals of obscenity
- Montanans across our state trust our teachers and librarians. HB 234 is aimed at a problem that does not exist, as all of these institutions have board approved policies to ensure that the materials they provide are suitable for the public.
-
The definition of the title of this law is found here. None of these materials are found in public schools or libraries or museums. HB 234 is a blatant attempt at censorship.
- It exposes public schools, libraries and museums to frivolous and costly lawsuits when funding is already tight.

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)
Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining"!

Talking Points:
- The child care shortage and child care affordability crisis is hurting Montana families and our economy
- Some families are paying as much for child care as they are for housing.
-
We need to cap the cost of child care for MT families and revise the reimbursement structure to bring more stability to child care providers – like HB 238 calls for

The Department of Health and Human Services is proposing an amendment that would restrict abortion access for Medicaid recipients. This proposed amendment not only imposes additional restrictions on the "medical necessity" standard required to have Medicaid fund an abortion, but also adds a prior-authorization review of "medical necessity" that could leave Medicaid recipients without the care they need.

Senate Bill 99, carried by Sen. John Fuller, would harm current and future trans, non-binary and two-spirit youth by taking away their access to lifesaving, gender-affirming healthcare including hormone blockers and hormone replacement. Senate Bill 99 would also prohibit public employees like teachers and school counselors from supporting a minor’s social transition.

Talking Points:
- The DPHHS and the Governor have made it easier to kick people off their health care by changing the Medicaid eligibility rules, which will disproportionately affect Tribal health care services
- The DPHHS needs to restore continuous eligibility
- And moving forward, needs to go about redetermining eligibility requirements in a slower and more responsible way
- Their current plan for changing eligibility is irresponsible – and could kick 43,000 Montanans off their health care
