July Edition
July 2021,
Well, we're in the thick of it now everyone. Burgers, pulled pork, steaks galore and we even experimented with a veggie burger recipe. Summer grilling and smoking season is well upon us now. We've been increasing the range of products on hand and focusing on the future and what that means for you. As covid restrictions slowly but surely start to life, that means we can offer more services... some things are "secret" and in the works, but who'd be interested in a BBQ Class?! In-person! With actual real people! Ok, stay tuned for that.
The fun thing as cooks and a large number of new products is that we get to try lots of new things and different things on old things. We've been really impressed with what we have brought in but so far there are a couple of stars that need special mention. If you haven't yet, we strongly recommend the Hardcore Carnivore Lonestar Meatchelada rub. It is our featured product this month and largely because of how versatile it is. Tangy, savory, and a bit of spice with a beautiful color - we've used it on veggies, beef, pork, and chicken. We also have a recipe with this rub in action this month - a grilled beef tenderloin roast.
Lastly, we leave you with a perspective on flavour profiles and the impacts of spices. Base rubs are great, but understanding their ingredients and the overall impact, or how you can tweak them to get exactly what you are going for is important. Have a read here
