City of Vacaville Invites Residents to Participate in a Review of the Centennial Park Draft Master Plan

VACAVILLE, Calif. – The new, draft master plan for Centennial Park is nearly complete. Parks & Recreation Department staff, and the project consultant (Helix Environmental Planning), will present the draft master plan to residents at two scheduled meetings in early December. The end-goal is to gather feedback and comments on the draft plan to ensure it includes recreation elements that are most desired and appropriate for this 265-acre park site.

The draft master plan proposes several new recreation elements within each of three designated activity zones:
  • The Active Recreation Zone (southern portion where there are existing sports fields and other active uses)
  • The Creekside Discovery Zone (triangular-shaped area located between tributaries of Horse Creek)
  • The Nature Exploration Zone (large undeveloped area located at the north end of the park)

Residents can anticipate receiving an update and information about what is being proposed, and may offer their input at one of two meeting opportunities:

In-Person Meeting:
Saturday, December 3
9:30 - 11:00 AM
Ulatis Community Center

Virtual Meeting:
Wednesday, December 7
6:00 – 7:30 PM

Additional information is available on the Centennial Park webpage at CityofVacaville.gov/Parks. Written comments and questions may be submitted to Park Planner Hew Hesterman, via e-mail [email protected] or postal service, 40 Eldridge Ave, Suite 13, Vacaville, CA 95688, prior to or shortly after the meetings.
