I'm going to come right out and say it....I am not a fan of social media. Nor texting for that matter. They both have there place in the world, although overused, but I prefer the old fashioned way....a phone call.
I started with 3 social media accounts for FlaCarShows, but am only active on one, that being Facebook. It gives me a chance to mention my advertisers, without them there would be no FlaCarShows. I occasionally run across cool car articles that I enjoy sharing, and photos that deserved to be shared. I have recently hit the 12,000 following mark so I'm quite satisfied.
About a year ago I started a Facebook group page which allows people to post upcoming car events, share car show photos, and converse back and forth. It has over 2600 followers. Again I'm quite satisfied.
However, there is one downside. I am not a fan of a closed group page. How do I know if I want to be a member if I don't know what the group is about? But an open group comes with a risk of spam. It comes creeping in. As a community of car loving people, please report anything odd that you see on the Facebook pages. I've got some restrictions in place but it is not foolproof.
As with everything, there is good and bad. I'll keep chasing the bad out if you let me know that it sneaks in.
