Crater Lake History Tour: Stories Behind the Scenery

OLLI at SOU has partnered with RogueTrotter to offer one final travel trip this academic year! On Monday, June 29, experience a full-day exploration of Crater Lake National Park guided by local historian and author Larry Smith. Participants will explore Native American origin traditions, the discovery of Crater Lake, the creation of the National Park, the Civilian Conservation Corps and the early development of park tourism and infrastructure. Show your OLLI at SOU pride and join us for the downhill 4th of July parade walk! We will be walking with the SOU contingent. This years theme is "Creating our Future Together." Save Print Catalog Costs and Go Green!

Any OLLI at SOU member can opt-out of receiving the printed course catalog. Printing and mailing catalogs is one of our largest expenses; you can help OLLI save money, and going green supports SOU's sustainability mission. To opt out, simply click the button below.

Any member who opts out of receiving a print catalog in the mail can view the print catalog PDF online by Wednesday, July 29, or pick up a print catalog at one of our many distribution locations in the area. Print catalogs are scheduled to arrive in mailboxes by August 8.

Please note: You will only be removed from the catalog mailing list if you request it. You do not need to contact the OLLI office if your household prefers to continue receiving a printed catalog.

Save the Date: OLLI at SOU Open House

Save the date for the annual OLLI at SOU Open House on Wednesday, August 12, 1-4 p.m., in the Rogue River Room of the SOU Stevenson Union. The Open House is your chance to visit exhibits from SOU and community partners, preview upcoming OLLI at SOU fall offerings, enjoy free refreshments and enter to win valuable door prizes.

Lifelong Learning Opportunities

Bach’s Brandenburg Concerti (OLLI at University of Reno Nevada)

OLLI at SOU members are invited to register for Bach’s Brandenburg Concerti, taught by SOU professor emerita of music and longtime OLLI instructor Peg Evans. This course is offered via Zoom on Thursdays, July 9, 16, 23, and 30, at noon PDT. The course will examine Bach’s life and background, characteristics of the Baroque period, and look at and listen to the six Brandenburg Concertos.
