"PRAY TELL..."
Brown v. Board -
A Dream Denied?
By Kim Anderson

(Editor Note: Below is an excerpt from an article written by our very own Kim Anderson, board member of redefinED atlanta. To read her article in its entirety, clink the link below).

Last month marked 65 years since the Supreme Court issued its opinion in the landmark case Brown v. Board of Education (Brown v. Board) which declared that segregation of students in public schools on the basis of race was denying children equal protection under the law as guaranteed by the Fourteenth Amendment- and therefore unconstitutional. The anniversary of this landmark case prompted me to reflect on dreams for my children and my parent's hopes and dreams for me. Have we fulfilled the hope and pledge embodied in Brown v. Board, or is it another one of America's myriad of promises to people of color that are not only deferred but systematically denied?

THE FOOD PANTRY

CLOTHES CLOSET MINISTRY

This is a good time to get familiar with the resources we offer and the layout of the clothes closet. We also invite you to come help the team switch out the winter clothes to warmer weather clothing. We will be working on Tuesdays at 4:00 pm. For more information contact Min. Julie Gordon
