I would first like to apologize that my June newsletter did't quite make the it out in time for the month of June. One thing you will always get from me is honesty and transparency and I'll be honest that managing the Chamber on a part-time basis is definitely a learning curve for me. As I learn and grow into this new role and new community, I am navigating how to prioritize and balance the workload. As for the newsletter this month I received (and accept) an F for timeliness.
However, I have been able to accomplish some wonderful things since we last touched base. I'd like to share a few of them here. If you would like more information about anything I have listed or find out more about other topics I've been working on, please reach out to me so we can talk in more detail.
Getting to know Cross Plains.
I have been able to meet with several business and talk with residents. Getting feedback and learning about Cross Plains; from both the business and resident perspective, is vital in helping me lead the Chamber. A few of those recent learning and sharing opportunities this last month included: State Bank Staff Meeting, Old Timers Club, Village Board Meeting, Coffee with a Cop, Apex Chiropractic Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting.
Hosted our first ever Volunteer Appreciation Celebration.
It was a great opportunity to show all of our volunteers how much we appreciate their support. Crossroads Coffehouse provided a wonderful location to eat, drink and chat. We had door prizes and wonderful conversation. I hope to see you at our next one!
Planning the July 23rd Golf Outing & Community Celebration with Northwest Dane Senior Services
. Partnering with another organization does not just allow us to share our resources while working on an event. It provides a wonderful opportunity to learn more about my partner's business, get to know their employees/volunteers, and where their struggles and strengths are within our community. The Golf and Community Events are going to be spectacular because of the relationships built while partnering.
(Let me know if you business wants to partner with the Chamber!)
Evaluating, Organizing, and Brainstorming
. I feel it's important to note that I have been working with the CPACC Board to develop a stronger plan and goals to support our mission for our Chamber Members, Village, and greater community. The future takes work and I'm excited for each step of the results!
On a final note: If you see me, stop me and say hi! If you have a business, reach out to me and set up a time for us to meet. If you are a CP resident and want to share your thoughts with me, lets grab lunch or a coffee.
Thanks for reading and have a wonderful and safe 4th of July!
