In 1963, Carro Connors met Carroll Shelby and asked him if she could write a song about his car. He replied, "Darlin', if you write a song about my car and it is a number one hit, I will give you one. The rest is history. That car is worth $1.5 million today.
Carol Connors and Allen Grant team up to celebrate a belated100th Centennial of Carroll Shelby, and the 60 Anniversary of the Cobra on February 11, 2024, at Miracle Springs Resort & Spa. Both will be given a Gray Frederickson Lifetime Achievement Award.
Did you know George Lucas’s 1973 breakthrough film American Graffiti was based on the exploits of Allen Grant, for whom the movie mogul once acted as crew chief? They have been friends since childhood, and Lucas freely admits that Grant has always been his idol.
