WE'VE GOT A CRUSH ON YOU

Summer Crush season is here! Say hello to patio weather, easy drinking sippers, sandals, and warm weather. It is about time, Minnesota. This seasonal favorite is a beer brewed just for summer. It has a pleasant lemon flavor and aroma from using Sorachi Ace hops, which is a defining characteristic of this Japanese hop variety. The malted barley lends a slightly sweet, biscuity backbone. Summer Crush is a sessionable beer and is our take on a Shandy without being one.

Summer Crush is AVAILABLE NOW at liquor stores, bars, and restaurants around Minnesota. Check out the Beer Finder on our website to see where you can get Summer Crush in your neck of the woods.
NEWS
SOUTH SHORE DISTRIBUTION

A little cow told us that our dangerously good ales are demanded on the South Shore of Lake Superior. We decided to spread the love and the dangerously good ales to the folks in Bayfield and Ashland counties. Distribution to the South Shore will kick off in the beginning of May.

We will be updating the Beer Finder on our website as we spread our wings. Give us a few weeks and you should see locations on the South Shore serving our dangerously good ales.
THE TRACY JOHNSON 'MEMORIAL' PACKAGING HALL

Or, at least that's what we thought about naming our packaging hall when we expanded. He means that much to us. Meet our Warehouse Specialist, Tracy Johnson.

What do you do here?
I run the warehouse and keep our Packaging department stocked with everything that they need.

How long have you been working for us?
About 5 years.

How did you hear about us and why were you interested in working for Castle Danger?
Clint (co-founder and Tracy's cousin) asked and I said, "hell yes".

What is your favorite part about your job?
Working with all of the great people! (Aww, shucks.)

What is your favorite Castle Danger beer? What is your favorite beer outside of Castle Danger?
I was a big fan of Winter Ale (circa 2014). Outside of our beer, I'll a huge fan of anything brewed by Earth Rider Brewery.

What do you do for fun outside of work?
I listen to music, ride my bike, fish, and play with my cat.

If you had to use a fake name, what fake name would you make up?
Todd Holbeck. *Disclaimer: this is not a fake name, Todd is a beloved friend of the brewery and was our Packaging Manager until the fall of 2018. Cheers, Todd!*

What food could you not live without?
Pizza and anything Mexican.

Who/what inspires you?
Selfless acts of kindness.

Describe one crazy moment or memory you've had at Castle Danger.
When I got my radio privileges revoked because I played Toby Keith's Christmas album.

Tracy is an invaluable member of Team Danger. He has a killer work ethic, is incredibly kind, and plays a crucial role in our success. He's a little shy, but if you ever see him around the brewery give this man an enthusiastic high five. He deserves it! We are so thankful for everything that Tracy does. Tracy, we'll name the next building after you.
BEER IS BIPARTISAN

Current MN law restricts breweries producing more than 20,000 barrels annually from selling growlers and crowlers. Starting October 1, 2019, Castle Danger Brewery will be restricted from selling growlers. Several other Minnesota breweries are approaching the same restriction. The new Growler Cap Bill would allow any brewery with a taproom to sell growlers and crowlers. We encourage everyone to contact your MN legislators and encourage them to support raising the growler cap.

Despite opposition, we remain committed to working to change the Growler Cap in this legislative session, which ends on May 20. To be the first to know growler cap updates and how you can help us save the growler, please subscribe to our Growler Information newsletter below.

HONEY RASPBERRY WHAT NOW?

Honey Raspberry Wheat is back! You loved it, and we listened. Honey Raspberry Wheat is a beautifully easy beer to drink during the summertime months. It has a crisp, floral aroma with hints of rich berry which are balanced by a smooth wheat/malt body. Honey Raspberry Wheat rounds out nicely with a lighter body and a dry finish.

Everything starts at 6pm on May 17th. A brewer will start the party with an introduction to Honey Raspberry Wheat while we pass out *free samples*, live music by John Cron starts at 7pm, hourly prize drawings, multiple infusions of HRW, and a local restaurant pop-up shop. The first 12 people to order HRW will get a free glass. We are also offering $1 off pints and discounted growlers of HRW during the party. The first drawing will be at 7pm and will go every hour until 9pm - you must purchase a pint of HRW to enter the drawing, and must be present to win. Mark your calendars!!
