Dear Free Speech Patriot,
This update on the fight against M-103 begins on a very positive note. This is the case as efforts by Canadians, such as yourself, have given the Liberal government pause. We now see them "regrouping" in the face of this enormous public pressure. How else to explain their decision to put a second round of cross-country consultations on racism and religious discrimination "on ice" - one day after they announced it. CTV personality Don Martin explained that they had no choice as " Justin Trudeau has become so identified with kumbaya peoplekind priorities that he’s lost the appearance of leading a serious government ."

This branding of the Trudeau "islamophobia" agenda has been hastened along by national media attention and public calls to action. These include:

  • a powerful National Post column by Barbara Kay that highlighted an analysis by yours truly. This analysis was declared to be "clear and coherent" and refuted the official recommendations associated with the Heritage Committee final report on Motion M-103. In short, there is no evidence that supports a "rising tide of fear and hate" in Canada. We are being bamboozled; and

We cannot, however, rest on the laurels of our recent successes. The fact is that the Liberals and other proponents of M-103 remain committed to the free speech-crushing concept of Islamophobia. So much so that they desperately seek its memorialization by instituting a special, commemorative day. All this so that they might introduce the term into the national legislative lexicon and spark the same "libel chill" in Canada that is now consuming Europe .
Next Step - a powerful letter-writing campaign
C3RF is partnering with the Media Action Group in calling for a nationwide letter-writing campaign. This campaign is designed to let politicians know that the everyday Canadians, you , are not happy with the designation of a special day of "Remembrance and Action Against Islamophobia". Such a day would permanently label Canadians as bigoted towards their Muslim neighbours even as it raised Islam above all other religions to protect it from criticism . Both assertions are wrong. After all, the "hate crime" statistics embedded in the M-103 Report prove that Canadians are neither racist nor "religious discriminators". Additionally, it is common practice in any liberal democracy to allow the criticism of any and all ideas - including those that inform the doctrine of any religion.

The details of the letter-writing campaign can be found here . The instructions are comprehensive and include information material, sample letters and even email addresses for your convenience. Some of the samples provided feature direct appeals to Liberal MPs who represent sensitive ridings or come from backgrounds steeped in former military or police service. In other words, MPs who should be motivated to reject the call for a national day that memorializes the phony Islamophobia narrative. These sample letters include a:

Partnering across the nation to grow a network of "Charter rights and freedoms" advocacy

It seems everyday we turn around we find our own government assaulting yet another fundamental, individual right or freedom. It has not stopped with the M-103 attack on free speech but has gathered steam to include others. These include:

  • the rejection of Summer Programs funding to groups that do not "attest" to accepting government morals associated with abortion and equality rights. This is a direct abridgment of the rights of these groups and individuals to freely live their beliefs and conscience; and

  • the institution of no-notice audits and investigations by Service Canada so that they might set upon the employers of foreign workers. These sweeping and intrusive measures disregard the Charter right to freedom from unreasonable search and seizure. Indeed, they are more representative of a banana republic than a liberal democracy - such as Canada once was.

With the government moving so quickly to strip Canadians of their Charter Rights, it is critical that these same Canadians come together to partner their individual efforts. As noted above, C3RF has begun to do so with organizations like the Media Action Group and Concerned Canadians. Another initiative that deserves support is a new podcast venue engineered by Ex-Military Intelligence Analyst Tom Quiggin. He uses his considerable security expertise to fight for your right to free speech on his "Quiggin Report". It commences March 27th at www.QuigginReport.com . You may click here to join him
The Future

It is readily apparent that the Liberal government is fully dedicated to trampling on your individual and fundamental rights and freedoms in the name of collective equality - even as they call you names. Is this acceptable for you? For your children? For your grandchildren?

Fighting these attacks on your birthright, a birthright that was handed down to you from past generations of Canadians, will require all of us to go beyond the petitions, letter-writing campaigns and information sessions discussed above. C3RF will need to expand operations further to include operations in the areas of education, public advocacy and even legal proceedings.

If you have not already, please consider jo ining Canadian Citizens for Charter Rights and Freedoms (C3RF). It is an organization that I Co-Chair and can attest to. You can join by clicking here or through the button below to keep up to date with C3RF activities and M-103 developments. We are in for quite a ride and want you to join us on this journey. Please follow C3RF on Twitter on Facebook or on our web site and share with friends for great content and a realistic outlook on the continuing battle for Charter rights in Canada.

Best,
