BACC President's Message:
Destination Barrington for the Holidays!

As we gather this holiday season within our own family units, consider an outing together to get in the festive spirit of the season.

From Holiday Windows in the Village of Barrington, to festive decorations at Deer Park Town Center and The Arboretum of South Barrington, and Vintage Holidays in Long Grove, there are plenty of opportunities for wholesome family outings that will lift your spirits.

In Barrington and particularly in the downtown area over 50 merchants are in the process of decorating their windows to set the stage for "Just Elfing Around Barrington." Local merchants and artists from the Barrington Area Artists Association and from Barrington High School have taken on many of the windows, creating whimsical scenes of elves doing everything from playing musical instruments to cutting hair, and perhaps having food fights! The theme coincides with an "Elfie" promotion hosted by BACC. Take an "Elfie" - a selfie of you in front of one of the elf windows - post on social medial and tag the chamber and you will have a chance to win a local shopping spree!

In addition, the colorful windows set the stage for the Village's Drive-By Santa and Virtual Tree Lighting on December 5, and the Barrington Holiday Walk on December 12. Tickets for the Holiday Walk are available at: bacc.ticketleap.com and include a complimentary take-out coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or specialty drink from your choice of Cook St. Coffee, Egg Harbor Café, and Southern Belle's, holiday music in the street, a coupon booklet for holiday shopping, and a chance to win $100 cash for immediate purchasing power, as well as local gift certificates.

Follow the activities at Deer Park, The Arb, and in Long Grove by checking out their websites: www.shopdeerparktowncenter.com, www.shopthearb.com and www.longgrove.org. Deer Park is featuring Festive Fridays and colorful artwork on display. The Arb decorations are going up. And Vintage Holidays in Long Grove include sleigh rides and more. -- Suzanne Corr, BACC President/CEO
