Update on Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief Efforts
Aloha to my fellow ACF members.

We have all seen and heard about the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey. Our thoughts and prayers are with each person affected by the catastrophe.

The well-being of our members is very important to us and we wanted to provide an update on disaster relief efforts and how ACF chefs can help.
Request Assistance for Yourself or an ACF Member
ACF wants to lift the financial burden of those without food, shelter, power or employment. ACF members may be eligible for support from two funds:
Texas Chefs Association Relief Fund
Texas Chefs Association (TCA) members affected by illness, natural disaster, unemployment, or personal tragedy are eligible for relief funds .
ACFEF Disaster Relief Fund Assistance
Funds from the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation (ACFEF) Disaster Relief Fund are available to assist ACF members, schools with ACFEF programmatic accreditation and its students, communities and individuals affected by catastrophic events and natural disasters. This form is also in the Members Portal.

Other Ways to Help
Many organizations are mobilized to enter disaster areas and provide on site support. We encourage you to donate to your charity of choice. Two possibilities to consider are:  American Red Cross (Note: Google is matching donations dollar for dollar) and Mercy Chefs

Let the members of the Texas Chefs Association know you are thinking about them.
Leave a hopeful message, prayer or kind words on TCA's Facebook page. If you are in the affected area, post to the TCA page to let them know you and your families are safe and how they can send help and aid to you, your chapter and your community.
Thank you for all you do to help fellow chefs in need.
