Every Mind Matters Newsletter

June 2024

In May, we piloted our unique, virtual StressLess workshop and booklets for caring adults in Alberta and Toronto/GTA courtesy of our generous sponsors, the Community Services Recovery Fund and Ontario Trillium Foundation. Read below to hear about the workshop and what participants had to say!

Unlock the Power of Resilience for Young Minds

and Help Them, StressLess!

Adapted from our evidence-informed Kids Have Stress Too! and Stress Lessons programs for educators, each booklet has been designed as a handy tool to provide fun and helpful ways to support kids in managing their stress and bolster their resilience.

Courtesy of our generous sponsors, the Community Services Recovery Fund and Ontario Trillium Foundation, participants in Alberta and Toronto/GTA got a first ever sneak peek of all 5 age-appropriate StressLess booklets, and how to use them with children and teens ages 4-18 years old. Here is what workshop participants are already saying about it…

We’re delighted to introduce our latest innovation: 5 NEW StressLess Booklets divided by age group, tailored for community organizations, coaches, volunteers, parents and any caring adult who lives and/or works with kids. These compact yet powerful resources are designed to equip children with essential strategies for managing stress, fostering resilience, and promoting mental well-being.

I participated in the StressLess workshop today and I am in love with the way in which the booklet is developed and put together.- Jeejna , Guidance Counsellor

The booklets are attractive and people will want to look at them. They are also very simple and the theory behind the strategies is evidence-based.” - Workshop Participant

“Very useful to have a resource that breaks down the steps and helps the adult help the children.”

“I think they are a good resource to come back to, outlining what stress looks like for a 4-6 year old, which is not often a word we associate with that age group. I also think they have good activities.”

“The training seemed to be well thought out, organized, straight forward and with the breakout rooms, engaging.”
