"Disinformation" Governance Board This week, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the creation of its Disinformation Governance Board, which will focus on alleged disinformation about migrants at the southern border and prepare to monitor Russian disinformation threats as we get closer to the midterm elections. The executive director chosen for the board is Nina Jankowicz, who has a history of sharing misleading claims about Christopher Steele’s discredited dossier and downplaying controversies regarding President Biden’s son, Hunter.   The timing of this announcement is convenient given Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter and his vow to make the social media site a free speech haven. The idea that the federal government would police free speech is a modern-day “Ministry of Truth” and should concern every American. The Biden Administration and DHS have chosen to make policing Americans’ speech their top priority, rather than securing our southern border or protecting our Homeland. This move by President Biden is dangerous, Orwellian, and unconstitutional.
