All I want to do is write about Oktoberfest and shout it from the mountain tops that y'all need to head to downtown Elkhorn [Veteran's Park] to celebrate the 19th Elkhorn Oktoberfest coming Saturday, October 19th from 9am - 5pm. But instead I am going to talk about another celebration.

I want to tell you about a group of people who shine! I want to tell you about a hardworking team who do so much to promote their community and Walworth County as a whole. So, let's talk Visit Lake Geneva.

Last night, Stephanie Klett, and her amazing Visit Team, including staff and committed volunteers, hosted their 50th Annual Impact Awards Dinner. Not only was the food delicious and the cocktails crisp, but the entertainment was on point!

Donald Driver himself is the spokes person for the Geneva Lakes Area and of course he was invited to attend. He gave a rousing interview that had the crowd cheering, whistling and laughing while sharing endearing tales that brought both Stephanie and Donald to tears. What a night! But the real reason so many respected business owners and community members gather, is to celebrate what's happening in the Geneva Lakes Area.

My favorite moment from last night was when our very own, Bernadette Russow [2023 Rising Star Recipient], took the stage to announce this year's award to the 2024 Rising Star. Waiting on stage to present the award was none other than Donald Driver. Bernadette was quick to flush and let the crowd know #80 wasn't helping her nerves. Driver swept in and offered his support as Bernadette made it through her Rising Star bio. It was the best!

The entire evening was filled with fun moments and reminders about why we're in the chamber business. Pistachio Crusted Beef Tenderloin is one of those reasons. But our motivation is also rooted in principles that Donald Driver adheres to: Be Yourself. Invest in Relationships. Know Your Purpose.

I can only be me and you can only be you. Intentionally learning about one another is how we cultivate meaningful relationships. Those relationships are how we move forward together with a greater purpose of building a community where we are proud to live, work and play. Thanks for the reminder, #80.

So a huge round of applause to Visit Lake Geneva for an impressive and memorable evening highlighting our county and reminding us how special the Geneva Lakes Area truly is! And just in case you don't know, here is a quick reminder when you press play.

This is a full-time position, minimum 35 hours, no nights or weekends. You will be in charge of managing all day-to-day operations in the business department and directly supervising 3-4 employees.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable

• Manage banking accounts

• Quarterly and annual duties for tax filings and census reporting

• 401K and HR administration duties

• Oversee payroll for 3 companies

• Recruiting and training new employees

• Miscellaneous department management duties

Requirements:

• Proficient in QuickBooks

• At least 3 years' experience in a management position
