FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 29, 2016
El Cajon, CA
Douglas Motorsport Wins Rd. 4 @ Rt. 66 Raceway
The Douglas Motorsports PRO-4x4 team has experienced better times over the years at Crandon International Off-Road Raceway, but even without a podium finish at The Big House Brawl, Scott Douglas is currently just eight points back in the PRO-4x4 Championship chase. As the mid-point of the TORC Series presented by AMSOIL approaches, there is plenty of racing left before a driver can be crowned champion.

The weekend at "The Big House" began with a hot and sunny Friday afternoon practice session. Unfortunately traffic during the five-lap warm-up created an incomplete data set for the team to evaluate.

Saturday afternoon saw the sunny skies turn quickly to overcast. The threat of rain was a real possibility. Fortunately the only sprinkles came before the ten PRO-4x4 lined up for Crandon's infamous land rush start.  When the green flag fell, Scott Douglas was in a tight battle for a place on the podium. With just a couple laps complete, there was contact between a few of the trucks including the #7 AMSOIL PRO-4x4. There was enough damage to the front end to slow the pace of the truck relegating Scott Douglas to a fourth place finish.

Overnight the crew made the necessary repairs and looked forward to a strong finish on Sunday.

The early afternoon Round 6 PRO-4x4 race the #7 AMSOIL Rusty's Off-Road Cooper Tire Walker Evans Racing KC HiLites PRO-4x4 battle driveline issues which led to a fifth place finish. Later in the day the team suffered a similar fate causing an early retirement in the FCP Community Cup.

"After a win in Joliet, we just ran into some bad luck in Crandon, " noted Scott Douglas. "There's always adversity when chasing a championship. The good teams know how to rebound from a weekend like this. Douglas Motorsports will rebound and resume our championship form. We are in second place just eight points back and the brand new facility at ERX Motor Park in Minnesota is up next. There's been a ton of hype already about this facility and it would really be cool to win at the inaugural event."

The "Twin Cities Takedown" in Elk River, Minnesota on July 16-17 is the next stop on the TORC Series presented by AMSOIL tour.

If you can't get to Elk River for the next rounds of racing, the event will be live on the Interne t and streaming free at www.torcseries.com .
