ATHLETICS

Please congratulate the Duluth swim and dive team for their very successful weekend at the Gwinnett County Championships. In one of the fastest county meets in the country, the girls team finished 6 th out of 19 teams, their highest finish since 2006 while the boys finished 9th. The team overall finished in the Top 8 for the 18th straight year. The team qualified 49 swimmers and divers for the county meet and 38 of them made it back for finals. The team made 28 state qualifying times (including relays), 1 new school record, and 3 Top 5 all-time times in school history.

The girls 506 points were the most ever scored in the county meet by a Duluth girls team.

Top Performances included:

Ashley Neas became the first Duluth girl since 2005 to win an individual title by winning the 500 Freestyle in a school record time and is now ranked #1 in the state in that event. Ashley also finished second in the 200 Free, with the second fastest time in school history. Also, Jimmy Fung set a Top 5 all-time in the 100 Butterfly, placing 5th.

We're on our way to the State Championships on the first weekend in February!

Thanks for all of your support!
