SENIORS

Calling all PARENTS with a GRADUATING SENIOR!
DHS broadcast is creating a senior video montage/slideshow dedicated to our seniors. This video will show at the senior breakfast and at graduation. What do we need? We need parents/siblings/friends to film themselves giving a "shout out" or special message to their senior. These short 1 minute (or under) clips will be combined into full length video production.  If filming is not an option for you, gather up 2-3 pictures of your senior and create your still picture and message option instead.
Make sure to state who the message is from in your clip or within your still photo and message. Be creative, but keep it under a minute and school appropriate.  Send completed videos or images to:
DuluthHighBroadcast@gmail.com by APRIL 12th. Be sure to include the student's full name, student number and parent contact information. Please forward questions to Sherri Long at DuluthHighBroadcast@gmail.com.

                         NEWS WORTHY

"DHS NJROTC participated in the Powder Springs Classic NS1 Fun Meet at McEachern HS on Saturday, March 25, 2017. The meet was designed to focus on the abilities of NS1 or first year cadets. Forty cadets, including 35 NS1 cadets, attended and performed exceptionally. In addition to earning ten trophies, DHS NJROTC was award 1st Place overall (1st in Athletics and 2nd in Drill). In the drill category, the unit earned first place finishes in Armed Basic, Unarmed Basic, Armed Exhibition and a 3rd place in Color Guard. In the "field events", DHS NJROTC took 1st Place in the Dizzy Izzy, Ammo Can Relay, and Sea Bag Relay, 2nd Place in the 10 X 100 Relay, and 3rd Place in the Stretcher Relay and Sit-ups - Push-ups. Special recognition should be made to the following upper class cadets who served as Unit Commanders: Cadet Laura Avellaneda (Color Guard); Cadet Hamza Anam (Unarmed Basic Drill) , Cadet Sean Bigger (Armed Exhibition), and Cadet Keyon Whyte (Armed Basic)". While it was a great day for the cadets and Instructors, the significance of this event is recognition of the NS1 talent that exists that could be used to develop competitive drill and athletic teams next Fall for the Sanctioned Navy Drill Meets. Well done to every DHS NJROTC cadet involved!!"
