Dynamic Trio of Musicians to Bring
Music to Worship and Arts Events at #EAD2018
|
Our National Gathering worship experiences are always a very inspirational and enlivening part of our weekend of education and advocacy.
This year we are fortunate to have three talented music ministers to lead us in song and to contribute to other artistic aspects of #EAD2018:
- Rev. Tracy Howe-Wispelwey, Director of Restoration Village Arts,
- Natalie Serno, also known as "La Muna," and
- Claire Hitchins, folk singer from Charlottesville, Va.
Read more about the work of these great musicians and view some links to their work
here.
In addition, we are glad to have
Rev. Julian DeShazier, known as "JKwest," as featured artist at our first ever Spoken Word Cafe on
Saturday evening of our National Gathering.
This unique gathering will present an opportunity for musicians, poets, preachers and others to share their work alongside some of these other great artists who will be present. It will also be a wonderful time of fellowship.
Be sure to find out more when you arrive for #EAD2018.

#EAD2018 Select Plenaries Live Stream
|
Those not able to be present in-person at #EAD2018 will be able to gather locally with faith-based justice advocates and participate virtually in aspects of the National Gathering and Lobby Day.
Once again this year, we will be live streaming selected keynote presentations and events in real time via Facebook Live from the
EAD Facebook page. Specifically, we will be live streaming the following events from the National Gathering (schedule subject to change):
Friday, April 20
Saturday, April 21
Sunday, April 22
Participation through the live stream can provide a great opportunity to engage members of local congregations and communities to gather together to learn, strategize and advocate simultaneously and in support of those gathered in Washington, D.C., while also asking questions and interacting on the live stream.
As advocates in D.C. storm Capitol Hill on Monday, April 23, we will call upon remote participants, informed by the streamed plenary sessions and equipped with the
Congressional Ask and related social media information, to call into the D.C. offices of their Members of Congress and Senators.
Advocates at home can also benefit from
downloading the EAD event app
where information about the Congressional Ask and other resources will be close at hand.
By the conclusion of the National Gathering, recording of most keynotes will be available on our website, providing an ongoing education resource for congregations and other groups.
