A REWARDING ENDEAVOR

BID’s Spring Rewards local spending incentive program is in full bloom! Earn local spending money back when you shop, dine, access services, enjoy attractions, stay on a property, or simply spend money at any of more than 350 eligible businesses during the month of April. Once you reach your chosen spending level, submit your receipts at DowntownDurango.org/Spring-Rewards where you will also find all contest details and the list of eligible businesses. In return, BID will buy you a Heart of Durango Dollars gift card. As of Tuesday April 8, there are 165 rewards remaining. Spring Rewards is presented by Alpine Bank.

ARE YOU DOWN TO MELTDOWN?

The Durango Bluegrass Meltdown returns this weekend! Enjoy the festival April 11- 13 at multiple Downtown venues including the Durango Arts Center, Animas City Theatre, The Wild Horse Saloon, Durango Elks Lodge, and 11th Street Station. Attending the Meltdown supports the nonprofit festival’s Bluegrass in the Schools program which has been going strong since 1997. Get your tickets to this year’s festival in advance at Animas Trading Company (742 Main Ave.) or at DurangoMeltdown.com where you can also check out the full lineup of artists and venues.

IT ALL STARTS WITH HAPPY HOUR

The Durango Chamber is Commerce is hosting Cheers to Leadership: the happy hour to learn everything you need to know about applying to Leadership La Plata. Join your fellow LLP-curious southwest Colorado colleagues TOMORROW, April 10, from 5 to 7 pm at Zia Cantina Upstairs in the North Main District. You’ll hear what to expect, how to apply, and have the opportunity to ask questions. Please RSVP to this free event by clicking here. Learn more about Leadership La Plata here.

TRACKING COLLEGE DRIVE CONSTRUCTION

We are in the thick of the track replacement project that has College Drive closed between Narrow Gauge Avenue and the crosswalk at McDonald’s. The project will also add a new crossing signal, ADA ramps, and replace sections of sidewalk. Click here for the full announcement and details on the temporary re-route of the Animas River Trail detour currently in place while the ART repaving project is in progress. The College Drive track replacement project is anticipated to be completed by April 15. And remember to subscribe to the City’s Orange Cone Report to stay up to date on all the active construction projects this summer by clicking here.
