April Showers Bring May Flowers
African american rain girl illustration silhouette on a white background
April has just flown by and here we are ending the first quarter of 2017.  Always happy to know that taxes are finished and we can move on.  It has been an incredibly busy year so far but it has been filled with wonderful events.  All of our Group Trips are filling up and I'm always thinking about the next destination to offer you.  The weather is still crazy all across the nation.  Here in Dallas it can be 90 one day and in the 40's the next.  We spent the first weekend of April attending the Dallas Travel Show with a great group of colleagues from Cruise Planners.   It was definitely different than our events at Abilities Expos and I think I'll stick with those.
Have you started to think about any special vacation plans for the rest of 2017?  If so, better hurry and firm up those plans as space is always limited.  We are always happy to help you take the stress out of your vacation planning.

Escape With Us October 7-14, 2018
Norwegian Escape, round-trip New York
HURRY & RESERVE before they're GONE
We did this itinerary in 2014 and it is one of my favorite trips. Just ask the lucky people who sailed with us.  We all had an amazing time. We depart out of Manhattan and sail to Portland, Maine, Bar Harbor (may be tendered), Halifax, Nova Scotia and St. John, New Brunswick.  The scenery is breathtaking and we should be on time for some beautiful changing colors.
This itinerary is in high demand.  Therefore, it is very important that you reserve your cabin as soon as possible or they may be pulled by ship inventory.  A deposit of $500 will hold your space and is fully refundable until June 15, 2018. Don't be disappointed.

Easy Access Travel Returns to ALASKA!!!
We will be doing another Alaska Group Cruise round-trip Seattle August 4 - 11, 2018.  This time we will be cruising with NCL on a ship being built specifically for Alaska, Norwegian Bliss.  She is not built yet but promises to be absolutely amazing with walls of glass for your viewing pleasure.  Complete details have been posted to my website.  We have just secured space and are anxious to share it with you.  NCL is known for the hulls on their ships being painted by famous artists.  The Bliss will have her hull painted by Wyland, famous for his paintings of whales and sea life that decorate many building walls on the West Coast.  We are also working on a two night Seattle pre-cruise adventure.
Please email or call to sign up.  Many cabins already spoken for.

Saying Goodbye is Never Easy...

Early April found us in Las Vegas attending our final meeting of the External Disability Advisory Board for Virgin America who is in the process of combining efforts with Alaska Air.
It has been an honor to have been a part of this committee. Virgin America has a very high standard of customer care and strives to be pro-active which I try to impress upon all of you the importance of.  Several people from Alaska Airlines attended our meeting to hear about our many accomplishments and to listen to us regarding what was important in the treatment of passengers with disabilities. Alaska Air also has a high standard of care and is committed to insuring that all of us have a pleasant journey.  They will continue to increase their routes so that more of us can experience their service.
A few words from the folks at Virgin America:

"You all have been pivotal in helping make Virgin America an airline for everyone. While I am very sad to see our board disband, I know Alaska has seen and appreciated the great work we have done and will continue to further our cause with their exceptional care and service.
That being said, I did want to give you my take aways from our informal meeting. Based on your feedback, I think our number one focus is to continue to encourage our teammates to be advocates for our guests. Though there are certain aspects of travel our Airport and Inflight Teams are not able to handle, such as wheelchair pushing or transfers, we can certainly take a moment to ensure that our guests are being taken care of by our third party vendors.
I know our friends at Alaska heard your concerns and praises, they will do all they can to implement what we have done within their department."

Deb's Medical Update
& Travel Adventures

After 14 months of waiting, I am now the happy owner of a 2016 Toyota Sienna Braunability Conversion Van.  I have definitely learned patience this past year.  My walking is improving and my discomfort is getting less with time.  I just found out that there is a new 24 Hour Fitness not too far from my home and it has a 50 meter pool with the perfect pool lift. I qualify for a free Silver Sneakers membership through my insurance and I look forward to getting back in the pool.  They also have exercise classes while seated for the Silver Sneaker Members so I am a happy camper! I'm going to devote some time to getting in shape and improving my balance.  If you call and I'm not here, I'm probably at the gym so please leave a message and I will call you back.
