July is almost over, kids are getting ready for back to school and 2021 will be done before we know it. I hope everyone has been able to enjoy summer and perhaps you've done some traveling. Read below to find out about our first vacation since the onset of Covid and travel restrictions. We have enjoyed a pleasant summer here in Dallas without excessive heat but it's starting to warm up now. I've been busy packing up the house, shopping for the new one and working on all the trips my clients are anxious to go on. It's so nice to be back to business! Steve and I have also been eating lots of ice cream....our favorite summertime treat!

Cruise Line Updates...

Cruises have begun with very positive results. Passengers are having a wonderful time. Capacity on all ships is currently reduced and everyone seems to be enjoying this feature. Crew members are thrilled that guests are back onboard and cannot wait to welcome you as well.

The cruise industry is seeing a huge demand from people ready to hit the high seas. I've been very busy booking cabins for travel beginning in September, 2021. Cruises for 2022 and beyond are filling up very quickly, especially accessible staterooms. I recommend securing a cabin now and reserving with a refundable deposit.
New Trips for 2022 & Beyond...

Once most travel has resumed and we are welcomed back to Europe, we will begin working on other trips including a land trip to Ireland in 2023.
Remember, you don't have to wait for a group to travel. We are happy to plan a trip just for you!
Keep reading our monthly newsletters to know when new groups are announced.

Debra & Steve's TRAVEL Update...

We have been invited to participate in a "Test" cruise on Royal Caribbean's Independence of The Seas out of Galveston August 1 - 5. The CDC will be onboard with us and we must follow all protocols as set forth by them. All guests and crew will be fully vaccinated. The ship will make one port call in Cozumel. We are so excited! I got off Symphony of The Seas on March 1, 2020 so it has been exactly 17 months since I've traveled and I am READY! I will be posting on my Face Book page (Debra Stein Briscoe Kerper) with daily reports and photos. I will write a complete report for the August Newsletter.

Vaccine for COVID-19 in 2021 is closer to reality. COVID-19 Vaccine. vaccine against coronavirus disease 2019 will be available on 2021. 2021-new year with corona virus vaccine concept.
Have You Received Your
Vaccine Yet???

While we know that not everyone will get vaccinated, we believe very strongly that this is the right thing to do. We are coming to the end of 17 months of isolation and suffering and we need to come together so that all of us feel safe. I will require my group participants to be vaccinated for my safety and theirs as well as the safety of other travelers.

It is more important now than ever to get vaccinated and protect against the Delta Variant. Being vaccinated is not a political statement, it is common sense.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU WILL NEED THE VACCINE FOR MOST TRAVEL.

ALASKA 2021

ALASKA IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS BEGINNING END OF JULY, 2021

The Alaska Tourism Recovery Act has been signed into law. This is fantastic news for cruisers and for the state of Alaska who depends on tourism to support much of their economy. The law allows cruise ships to cruise to US ports without the mandatory stop in a foreign port (Canada). Interested in an Alaska Cruise this summer? Call me and let's get you booked! 800.920.8989

Is the Pandemic Over?

Not sure, but we have definitely made a lot of progress and are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. It's so nice to not have to wear a mask everywhere we go. However, we all need to proceed carefully and not become too complacent. We all saw how quickly Covid 19 spread and wreaked havoc on our lives. So, enjoy some new found freedoms but be careful and practice common sense.

MY PANDEMIC READING LIST

Everyone seems to be enjoying my "Pandemic Reading List" and the books I've read since March, 2020. I'm enjoying your comments and book suggestions! Books below in red are my newest reads. I truly love escaping into the pages and lives of the characters.

Fly Away Home by Jennifer Weiner
Cooking For Picasso by Camille Aubrey
Educated by Tara Westover
Summer of 69 by Elin Hilderbrand
Big Summer by Jennifer Weiner
A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles
Florence Adler Swims Forever by Rachel Beanland
American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins
An Unorthodox Match by Naomi Ragen
Beneath A Scarlett Sky by Mark Sullivan
The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah
Eli's Promise by Ronald Balson
Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate ( One of my favorites!)
Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
The Last Tackle by James Wallgren (read review above)
The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett
Bel Canto by Ann Patchett
Time For Mercy by John Grisham
Lost Friends by Lisa Wingate
The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek by Kim Michele Richardson
Four Winds by Kristin Hannah
The Midnight Library by Matt Haig (not a favorite!)
That Summer by Jennifer Weiner
Have You Seen Luis Velez? by Catherine Ryan Hyde
The Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict (current read)

Some of these are easy reading (Chick Lit) but some are fairly intense. Enjoyed every almost all of these books. Reading is a great escape to another time and place which I think we can all benefit from. I must admit that as work picks up, my reading is slowing down!
New House UPDATE:

What a difference a month makes! We are coming to the tail end of our house building adventure. Closing is set for August 18 and our move date is August 23. I will be able to see the inside of the house for the first time either Friday or when I return from our cruise. A little nervous about checking out the wheelchair modifications. Fingers crossed that all is good. We sold our current home to someone that lives in our neighborhood and everything is progressing well. Are we nuts to be out in the ocean so close to closing? Maybe, but this will be a good break from packing, etc.

We love when you participate in our groups but please remember to call us when you want to plan a vacation for the two of you or with a group of friends or family members. We can most likely plan any type of vacation you want and we will be sure to address all your accessibility requirements and needs. We so enjoy doing the research for you and look forward to planning that next trip just for you! Also, if you see one of our groups that you would like to do but perhaps the dates don't work, give us a call. We can usually duplicate the same trip just for you and your travel companions.
