Welcome Autumn! I love the crisp mornings and cooler days. Leaves in Texas don't change much till November so looking forward to seeing them. It's a little difficult to get up in the morning with the late sunrise. Unfortunately, in order to get an earlier sunrise, we have to settle for much shorter days as it will be dark pretty early in another 10 days. I have had an amazing October filled with our incredible trip to the Western Mediterranean. I leave tomorrow for an inaugural 4 night cruise onboard NCL Prima!

Wishing everyone a happy & safe Halloween!!!

Where We Are Going...

Are You Coming With Us?

After a whirlwind 6 months of traveling, we have finally completed all trips previously scheduled for 2020. Israel, London, Paris, Alaska and the Western Mediterranean is a lot to see between last April and October. I'm exhausted thinking about it!  Every trip was incredible. Ate too much, shopped too much and didn't get a lot of sleep but I would do it all again in a heartbeat.

At the current time, I have no groups booked for 2023 but we are looking at different options.

Western Mediterranean Cruise is Huge Success!

WOW! From the amazing itinerary to experiencing Royal Caribbean's newest ship, Wonder of The Seas, this was a truly unforgettable experience.

Wonder is the last in RCCL's Oasis Class and did not disappoint. She's a little larger but very easy to navigate if you have sailed on other Oasis Class ships. I truly believe that RCCL leads the pack in accessibility. Wonder has an accessible Jr. Suite with a roll in closet!  Lots of incredible storage space.  She has also introduced the first accessible one bedroom suite in the fleet.  It is spacious with two desk areas and a very large bathroom and shower.  I'm very pleased that there are more options for accessible staterooms.  With the introduction of the ICON Class in 2024, I hope to see more accessible family staterooms.

We began our trip with two nights in Barcelona.  We were greeted with rain but it passed by mid afternoon.  We enjoyed a comprehensive tour of the city including a visit to the Picasso Museum which everyone loved.

After boarding the ship and getting settled, we were off to different cities every day except the last day of the cruise.  We visited Palma de Majorca, Marseilles, Rome, Florence and Naples (Sorrento & Amalfi Coast).  Weather was perfect except for more rain in Rome while we visited the Coliseum.  It had cleared by lunchtime so all was good.  We had outstanding guides in each city and enjoyed time to sample the local cuisine and shops.  My favorite was Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast.  So much beauty.  This region is where Margarita Pizza was invented and we enjoyed some at lunch.  Excellent!  Thin  crust, delicious sauce and lots of cheese!

While in Florence, we visited the Accademia Gallery and saw the original statue of David.

This was truly a memorable trip and I hope to see you on a future adventure.

BROKEN WHEELCHAIR?  Now What Do I Do????

What happens if you land at your destination or connecting airport and your wheelchair is broken?  Well, this just happened to yours truly when I landed in Philadelphia en-route to my flight home in Dallas.  I won't go into the aggravating details but rest assured that all's well that end's well.  My purpose in sharing this is to tell you my favorite travel tip:

GLOBAL REPAIR GROUP 847.412.9000

I talk about this company when I give my workshops and their phone number is stored in my phone.  They contract with most major airlines but what I really love about them is that they will talk to you....the consumer and owner of the mobility equipment that has a problem.  They operate 24/7 which is verified by my recent complaint which was late on a Sunday evening.  Their customer service is fantastic as is their promptness to act and their follow-up.  One of the first things they ask is if you need a loaner chair.  They then begin the claim process.  All paperwork is handled by them and you never see a bill if the airline did the damage.  This is my third claim with them.  Current chair is being repaired as was another chair and a third chair was totally replaced.  They make the process so easy and have a local mobility company come to you.  Their business model is spot on and I cannot give them enough kudos.

Cruise Lines Updates...

NEWS in recent emails....

The biggest news is that most cruise lines have dropped the requirement to be fully vaccinated against Covid. They still strongly recommend this but the choice is yours. However, those that opt out of being vaccinated will still require pre-cruise testing.

For those that have a vaccination card, please carry it with you. You can skip the testing prior to your cruise.

Masks are at your discretion.

Have You Received Your

Vaccine(s) Yet???

Time To Get Your Omicron Booster Shot!

and your flu shot...

While we know that not everyone will get vaccinated, we believe very strongly that this is the right thing to do. We need to come together so that all of us feel safe.

It is more important now than ever to get vaccinated and protect against the Omicron Variant. Being vaccinated and boosted is not a political statement, it is common sense.
