Travel and tourism, collage with the world s sights

Hello Again!

I took the summer off from writing the newsletter.  Thanks to all who contacted me wanting to know where it was.  I spent the summer traveling and catching up.  I have been extremely busy planning individual trips for so many of you and I greatly appreciate your business.  I thank you for your loyalty throughout the Covid Pandemic.

We have been working hard trying to accommodate lots of people wanting last minute travel as well as doing group trips originally planned for 2020-2021. We've completed an amazing trip to London & Paris as well as our cruise to Alaska. We are still looking forward to our Western Mediterranean cruise in October. Evidence of climate change is all around us. We experienced temperatures over 100 degrees in Paris and Seattle. Neither of these cities are prepared for this heat as many buildings do not have air conditioning. Even the Louvre is not air conditioned!

We continue to monitor the world wide situation and will plan trips accordingly. Your safety and comfort is our primary concern. We also want your travel experiences to be the best they can be. We will practice patience and inform you as we have new information.

At the current time, I have no groups booked for 2022 but we are looking at different options.

London and Paris

What can I say? Our recent trip to London & Paris was amazing. Seven glorious nights in London at a well situated hotel by Westminster Bridge. Views of Old Ben and the London Eye greeted us every time we stepped outside. We were rolling distance from many well known attractions as well as restaurants and shops. The weather was sunny and spectacular. Can you imagine 7 days in London with no rain? Our guides were knowledgable and had a great sense of humor. We were transported in the famous wheelchair accessible taxis which turned out to be wonderful. We visited the Cotswolds and crossed Abbey Road in our wheelchairs.

We took the Eurostar from London to Paris. What fun! The train was comfortable and had accessible bathrooms. We were served a yummy lunch and everyone was very helpful. Paris was in the throes of a heat wave but, fortunately, our hotel was air conditioned. My favorite outing was to Monet's Garden in Giverney. We ate at outdoor cafes like the locals, visited famous museums, the Eiffel Tower, had dinner on the Seine River and shopped till we dropped. Again, our hotel was in a superb location where we could walk to so many places.

Interested? Let me know and maybe we can do this trip again!

ACCESSIBLE WESTERN MEDITERRANEAN CRUISE

OCTOBER 9 - 16, 2022

After an original departure date in 2020 and three different ships, we are ready to depart for Barcelona in a few short weeks.  We will sail on the newest member of Royal Caribbean's fleet, Wonder of The Seas.  Everyone is very excited.  We will visit Rome, Florence, Naples (Amalfi Coast) and Palma de Majorca.

WE RETURNED TO ALASKA JULY 29 - AUGUST 5.

Forty five travelers accompanied us back to Alaska on RCCL's Ovation of The Seas, round-trip Seattle.  We had many previous clients join us as well as a lot of new people.  We were so happy to have some family members cruise with us including two of our teenage grandchildren.  They had a great time!  The weather was fairly pleasant with some rain but not too bad.  Alaska is still suffering the side effects of the Pandemic with a shortage of vendors doing shore excursions.  Local shopkeepers welcomed us with open arms and we were happy to give them some business.

An Alaskan cruise is always a memorable experience and seems to be on a lot of bucket lists.  We are always happy to plan your Alaska Adventure.

Cruise Lines Updates...

NEWS in recent emails....

The biggest news is that most cruise lines have dropped the requirement to be fully vaccinated against Covid. They still strongly recommend this but the choice is yours. However, those that opt out of being vaccinated will still require pre-cruise testing.

For those that have a vaccination card, please carry it with you. You can skip the testing prior to your cruise.

Masks are at your discretion.

New Trips for 2023 & Beyond...

Have You Received Your

Vaccine Yet???

Time To Get Your Omicron Booster Shot!

and your flu shot...

While we know that not everyone will get vaccinated, we believe very strongly that this is the right thing to do. We need to come together so that all of us feel safe.

It is more important now than ever to get vaccinated and protect against the Omicron Variant. Being vaccinated and boosted is not a political statement, it is common sense.

SENIOR TRAVEL TIPS
The majority of my clients are seniors and sometimes require a little more TLC and extra planning. Read the following article for some good advice.

Be sure that all senior travelers are fully vaccinated and travel with their original proof of vaccination card.

Make arrangements in advance for wheelchair assistance at airports and cruise ship terminals.

Always carry medications and valuables in your carry-on. Do not pack in your luggage.

Purchase Travel Insurance.
