November 2024

OUR VALUE

The leaves changing color to reds, oranges and yellows remind us of how Greenfire’s projects are firing up! This past month we celebrated three projects kicking off, kept progress strong on our current projects, and celebrated fun events like Indigenous Biz Con, AIA discussion panels at The Granary and our own chili cookoff!

TEAM SPOTLIGHT

Seth Coronado, Project Engineer

SECRET TALENT:

I am a culinary enthusiast and often enjoy making new recipes and learning new cooking techniques! I specialize in Eastern dishes (Asian, Indian, European, etc.)

CLAIM TO FAME:

One achievement that means a lot to me is I am the first person on my dad’s side of the family to go to college, with that I also received my bachelor’s in mechanical engineering at MSOE. Another achievement was persevering and making my way into the construction/project management field. Although it may not sound like a challenge, it was filled with doubt from on lookers and potential employers on my capabilities in the field. Another nuanced achievement was my Final Engineering Project which is required to graduate and receive my degree. My team and I, through a NASA competition, were tasked with designing a manned Exploration Excursion Vehicle (EEV) to explore and collect samples from Mars’ moons Phobos and Deimos. We had to design the launching, space crafts, project logistics, etc. from leaving Earth, how long it would take, how it would make it to the first moon and collect samples, go to the second moon, and collect samples then return to Earth with the people and samples intact!

RANDOM CONSTRUCTION FACTOID:

One thing I learned during my time in college that applies to the construction industry is that I heard the invention of the steam engine revolutionized the construction industries since materials could easily and reliably be transported on land!

CONTEMPLATIVE THOUGHT OF THE DAY:

It costs nothing to be nice and a positive outlook can help you brave even the harshest of storms.
