My family loves to make fun of me because we get back from one vacation or family outing and I am already planning the next one. I have always wanted to know what was next. I guess the reason being that I am a visionary. One of my spiritual gifts is leadership and the defining trait in leadership is that I like to cast the vision. If you are a visionary as well, you know what I am talking about. It is what wakes me up at night. It is what excites me.
Whenever God gives you a vision the human side of us kicks in. We immediately start thinking about the many reasons that we can’t do what God has asked us to do. Many times, the vision seems unattainable. Roadblocks may be spiritual, financial or personal. Roadblocks seem unsurpassable. Let me use the story of Joshua and walls of Jericho from Joshua chapter 6. God gave Joshua the vision for what needed to happen. The vision was birthed in him. He shared that vision with some very specific instructions for carrying out that vision. And we know from the story that the walls did come tumbling down.
In Isaiah 40:12 we read “Who else has held the oceans in his hand? Measured the heavens in his fingers, knows the weight of the earth or weighed the mountains and hills on a scale.”
The perspective should be that God is potentially greater than any wall that we face.
So, let’s put it all into our personal perspective. God places a vision on your heart. Begin to pray as to how God can use you to bring that vision into fruition. All God really desires is availability. He doesn’t just call the qualified He qualifies the called. If the vision is real, He will bring forth those who He also desires to be instrumental in carrying out that vision.
I can tell you right now that it is an exciting time to be part of Women’s Ministries. God has placed a vision for the year 2020 in the hearts of the leaders of this ministry. Wouldn’t you like to be a part of that?
