5th Graders Leave a Legacy of Hope, Peace and Diversity
5th grade students at
North Chevy Chase Elementary School participated in Art with a Heart's annual legacy project to promote environmental stewardship and to commemorate their time spent at the school. Inspired by the themes of hope, peace and diversity, students thoughtfully problem solved ways to recreate their two dimensional designs on a three dimensional, up-cycled hubcap. Completed hubcaps will be added to the growing abstract flower garden installed in the school's outdoor classroom.

THE IMPRESSIONISTS: CREATIVE SOCIAL ACTIVISM
|
Yarn + Community = Warmth
On Tuesday, February 18th, Art with a Heart's junior board, The Impressionists, hosted a fun and inventive crochet night. Participants enjoyed refreshments and a signature cocktail, The Twisted Stitcher, while learning to finger crochet. A very special thank you to facilitator and Impressionists, Rebecca Wilen. Rebecca led attendees in the creation of hats and scarves that will be donated to Youth Empowered Society, an Art with a Heart job program partner. A fun time was had by all!
